Areva du Creusot plant: EDF reports anomalies so far not listed

The operation of the Areva plant in Le Creusot, in Saône-et-Loire, has been marked by numerous irregularities for years, according to the Nuclear Safety Authority.

It is a hyper-sensitive file, on which the information arrives drop by drop. EDF announced on Thursday 24 August that it had reported to the Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN) anomalies hitherto not listed, identified in files concerning parts manufactured at the Areva plant in Le Creusot, in Saône-et-Loire .

The operation of this factory has been marked by numerous irregularities for years, according to ASN. The nuclear policeman therefore asked EDF to examine, by the end of next year, the components from this plant installed on its reactors. This analysis gives rise, for each reactor, to the drafting of a summary file sent to ASN.

No security problem, according to EDF
