A friend of mine noticed that his photovoltaic panels (fitted mounting) put his roof in the shade and significantly lowered the temperature in his rooms in summer.

Of course, 20% of the energy received is transformed into electricity => that's less to heat the house

Solar Production + VE + VAE = short cycle electricity

The millions of white roofs in the Arab world are visible on Google Earth.

Google Earth images of cities in Libya and Saudi Arabia with white painted roofs. We also say "Algiers la Blanche" and "Casablanca":

With in addition the inertia of the thick dry earth walls which replace the air conditioning for free with their night-day inertia (the heat of the day takes a day to arrive by diffusion !!).

With 3 to 4m of adobe, earth and straw, there is inertia from summer to winter, always the same temperature !!

With two similar houses, 4m thick from the walls, one white, for the summer keeping the cold of the winter and another, black, for the winter keeping the warm of the summer, we do the same as at www.dlsc.ca , in France for almost nothing, just by piling up clods of earth !!!

And the ricans would do well to copy these Arabs to save lots of oil for their absurd air conditioning !!!

Bioclimatic house in Lausanne, made with natural materials from no more than 20km around. The walls are made of earth and the straw insulation (walls 1m thick), painted in ... white:

50 tons of raw earth.
260 bales of straw to erect and insulate the building envelope.
80 m3 of white fir and red beech.

... almost nothing: it cost a whopping 1,6 million !!!

Considering the price, uh, for straw and soil with way too many windows and there are no 4m thicken walls, so nothing at all to do with the Arab and Egyptian principles of www.dlsc.ca :

fully bioclimatic building .... Lausanne ...

ECO46 cost 1,6 million francs,

In any case, between a black car and a white car there is no picture: try to touch a black bodywork which has spent an hour in the sun ...
