In the Loiret, the weather was good all day.
I saw 2 ULMs passing by.

The blue gray sunset, as often when the sun is on the horizon with clouds.

But after a fit of coughing, I started blowing my nose profusely:

No problem with piston engine ULMs: all you need is a good air filter :)

Ah ah gegyx you seem crowded!

And here are the tour operators thinking of asking for aid ... tomorrow the florists?

:? :? :?

Positive point: that opened the eyes of some to the possible alternatives to the over-mobility of our rich societies. Example: videoconferencing, a form of teleworking, with a much lower ecological impact ...

An "analysis" on the lessons to be drawn from this event and the weaknesses of our "prosperity model" (well, let's not exaggerate anything ...): http://www.terra-economica.info/Les-lec ... fjoll,9775

(obviously there is a 99% chance that nothing will change ... like with traders)

+1 Gegyx : Mrgreen:

I love your humor, hi, hi!

Very true that this should wake up some, like these clowns who leave for 3 days by plane on "vacation" .... : Evil:

But hey, they are also "victim" of the consumer society at all costs : Cheesy:

Wait & see for more ...

Well done Chris for the modern means "of shaking the ladle" to a distant correspondent ... weird that we haven't done more yet to make it a "must". :?:

Volcano cost the airline industry $ 1,7 billion, IATA says

(...) Affirming that this extraordinary situation has been aggravated by the bad decisions taken by the public authorities, Iata calls on governments to study the means of compensating the airlines for their loss of revenue.

But of course... : Evil:

Loss of 1,7 billion ...

What if they had stolen?

Accidents with passenger deaths, premature wear of all reactors, etc.
How much would it have cost?

For wear it would have been out of their pockets.
For accidents, insurance would have paid.
So they just have to have good all-risk insurance!

And then the will to fly despite the risks, in the event of an accident would have been catastrophic in terms of advertising ...

So gently the bass!

Exactly!

In addition the article seems to me to confuse LACK OF WINNING ON REVENUE and LOSS OF OPERATION ... this flat confirms it:

However, Iata recognizes that blocking the aircraft on the ground has resulted in fuel savings of approximately $ 110 million per day.

A shortfall is not really the same thing as a deadweight loss but we can always make fun of people's mouths ...

Now it is certain that they have lost money: so what? It is called the "natural risk" and they had to be better insured ... (besides I bet that they are in part) ... and the companies laid off are already subsidized by the 'State...

But it is surely NOT THE TAXPAYER WHO DOES NOT TAKE THE AIRPLANE TO PAY THE NOTE !! The note has only to be amortized on future customers!

But we all know how it will end (pressure, strike ...) ... For once I hope that the firmness of Sarkozy will therefore go well!

But what are you saying ?
Aviation company bosses going on strike?
I can not wait....

And sarkon has nothing to do with it, he has already found the windfall and excuses him for not going to Poland for the zobsecs, while in a helicopter, it was quite feasible.

at the moment everything is being done to restore morale in Belgium: there is gray matter in the air (it takes some) and light, and the sun with the anti cyclone, all of this is necessary for Walloons & Flemish reconcile .............

We're talking a little less about the Eyjafjöll volcano right now "out of sight out of mind", but the danger is still there.
Indeed, there is a risk of what we call the "Icelandic two-beat waltz", ie when the Eyjafjöll erupts, it often follows a violent awakening of its close neighbor the Katla, which has much larger eruptions ...
If the latter erupts: bye bye air traffic in the northern hemisphere ....
