NEW YORK (AFP) - Three military aircraft, including a Boeing 747, flew low over southern Manhattan Monday morning, causing panic and the evacuation of offices near the site of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
"It was a maneuver authorized by the Department of Defense to take photos," US Federal Aviation (FAA) spokesman Jim Peters told AFP.
"A military version of the Boeing 747 and two F-16 fighters were involved in this exercise, which was not an emergency maneuver and had been coordinated between the FAA, federal authorities and local authorities," he said. He specifies.
