Regarding the title of the subject, my observations lead me to think that the only people able to "protect nature" are those who live in it, without money.

A striking example, the Baobabs.
Out of the 8 species in the world, 7 are present in Madagascar including 6 endemic!
They are seriously threatened, in places there are only old people and no babies, but are not subject to any international ban.

"In the Menabe Region, although the Dinan'ny Tontolo Iainana
prohibits the slaughtering of baobab feet, this dina * cannot be applied because it has not yet been approved by
the judicial body of the region.
Finally, at the local level, taboos and traditions concerning certain baobab feet are often the only ones
protection measures for some species. Indeed, some
baobab feet, all species combined, are considered sacred and even constitute places of ritual "

* ancient justice before colonization

On eucalyptus reforestation, there is also much to say. I noted that the instigators of this project are wondering about biodiversity, but it is only on the question of the too great genetic homogeneity of these introduced stands ...
I do not know, of course, what these manufacturers have as an ulterior motive, the document is naturally silent on this subject ....

Apparently this is the summary of a seminar, I don't know more.

They tackle the subject of fabaceae, acacias etc, among others.

What I note is taking charge of the energy side for the population, a population which is part of nature and which "exploits" it, we do not say it enough, but the energy policy based on charcoal is a renewable alternative *, and cheaper than nuclear. (On the other hand, there are people who are planning to sell nuclear power plants in Egypt, a country drenched in the sun).
* especially if the population consumes little.

The title of the subject inspires me, these 3 words aligned ...
And also this pessimistic or optimistic equation?
If I describe all that I have lived, by analyzing the misdeeds of the "modern world", in particular the weight of multinationals on the functioning of the system, I am very pessimistic, and I still have a lot to tell.
At the same time, I am on the lookout for all the new thoughts that we can read (paradoxically, thanks to internet technology) and which tend towards a change, everywhere in the world, and they make me optimistic .. .

The Internet allows the link and therefore the dissemination and sharing of ideas and experiences that without it would be limited to a small circle of insiders, and this is an excellent thing.
However, we should not be deceived and an "improvement" of the tool will lead to a closure of the space of freedom thus released, the stakes are such that it is difficult for it to be otherwise.

Stepping behind sometimes can strengthen friendship.
Criticism is good if added to some compliments.
