Book "World system" or energy crisis?

by aerialcastor » 03/12/10, 11:00

Hello,

With Christmas approaching, I'm looking for gifts a little more useful than the traditional puppy brush that makes coffee (what else?) Or equivalent.

As I never read (it's sickly) I need your advice.

I would like to find books which show the hidden face of the system, and how certain laws are created just to protect certain as well as the aspect of connivance between the big industrialists, the "makers" of standards, and the politicians.
Also the aspect "war" of energy, interests me greatly in particular the techniques of "propaganda" of the masses, and there again the preservation of the interests of each one.

To make matters worse it is necessary that the books be technical but not too much (must not have bac + 15 to understand, but no discussion of counter) and with very concrete examples so as not to remain in a too theoretical elitism (also called handjob intelectuelle).

So which one is good?

Regarding the crisis, ben is already full please: https://www.econologie.com/shop/le-plei ... p-180.html

Very affordable and pocket size (= less paper :D)

Otherwise the products in the store are more in the "useful" genre, you have them all on one page here: https://www.econologie.com/shop/plan-site

Yeah, read it full to look good. I think it will.

In fact it's for my father he read "The Bush War" or something like that which he liked, so if you have any other title like that.

It must be a book with educational value.

So what else have you read?

Because a gift at 6 € 50 it might make me stingy. Other titles would be needed to complete.

Jean Ziegler's books are not bad in the genre, but they do not concern the recent crisis, rather the order of the world in general.

Hatred of the West, released in 2008, is still relevant. I find it very relevant. Here is his complete bibliography: link

Good luck in your research.

Very good for health, a real pedal bike for exercise and shopping, as proven by a large number of scientific studies.

If he is weak, to start an electric bike with adjustable assistance, to decrease assistance gradually, as progress in physical resistance !!

example of scientific evidence showing that exercise rejuvenates muscles and brain:
A fountain of youth in your muscles; researchers discover a mechanism for stem cell aging:

and you reduce the risk of all kinds of illnesses with exercise: (read this to your father)
Regular Exercise Reduces Large Number of Health Risks Including Dementia and Some Cancers, Study Finds

read also: do not overeat:

It works on me and not only on rats, grandfather I climb the hills to 20% without difficulty and young people are more tired than me !!

Otherwise there is this kind of book: https://www.econologie.com/shop/la-natur ... p-182.html

Ah it becomes interesting ...

I particularly remember
Total capitalism and hatred of the West

Ps: Christophe I find it hard to understand what books you sell.
"Full please" yes, but the others you mentioned?
Generally speaking, I would even say that the store is not very intuitive.
