Innovations, ideas or patents for sustainable development. Decrease in energy consumption, reduction of pollution, improvement of yields or processes ... Myths or reality about inventions of the past or the future: the inventions of Tesla, Newman, Perendev, Galey, Bearden, cold fusion ...

Christophe68, do you have something concrete to provide, because until then ??

For the moment there is nothing concrete in the public domain concerning IR photovoltaics to my knowledge. Lack of interest from industry and public research. What I find personally regrettable.
In addition, research in this field is generally classified, and IR seedlings have long been reserved for military purposes.

There is another line of research aimed at recovering thermal energy from ambient air that has been explored by a French inventor:

His travels are quite representative of the mood of the environment.

A pretentious COP and inconclusive experiences.
I do not see anything concrete here;)

Because the solar thermal concentration is working now.

and because we do not have on hand the miracle semiconductor material for infrared.

For the silicon in the visible it has already a big half century.

There is no conclusive experience because there is no experience at all, lack of political will. We will know if the COP is pretentious when we have experimented.

@moinsdewatt
Solar thermal is interesting, but we leave a little of the subject "unconventional energies".
The disadvantage is that we remain dependent on the vagaries of the sun, although we can store the heat, but that at a cost.
There are many opportunities to exploit temperature differences following the carnot cycle, but it is interesting to note that heat can also be converted directly into electricity.

The grail would be to achieve a low-cost industrial manufacturing process.
Low-valence low-density seedlings exist (eg gray pewter) but it remains to develop their practical uses, so invest in research.

I mean it smells the pseudo-scientific hoax.

Especially with expectations like this:
The COP, calculated from a reasonable hypothesis on leakage currents, would approximate 500 000.
You still have to have "cheeks" to write something so huge without arguing ...

In any case it would be almost unusable for an individual ...
Imagine a machine that you would start with 1 Watt power and that would produce 500.000 Watt output unattainable ...
Knowing that most electricity meters are calibrated on 6 to 9000 Watt, this "invention would produce between 50 and 100 times the maximum power withdrawn by individuals ...

For the moment, we can not even say if the basic principle works, it is (very) premature to talk about COP ...

Let the inventor start with some experiments showing that the basic principle of the system works, even when producing much less energy than it consumes, and the "political will" will come. :!:
