Engie Green inaugurates a photovoltaic park in Corrèze

CORINNE MERIGAUD Factory New the 25 / 05 / 2018

The two photovoltaic plants of La Montane (Corrèze) built by Engie Green and inaugurated the 25 May, required an investment of 26,8 million euros.

The photovoltaic park of La Montane (Correze) extends over 50 hectares and includes two plants.

Built and operated by Engie Grenn, the photovoltaic park of the ZAC La Montane (Corrèze) located in the towns of Corrèze and Saint-Priest-de-Gimel was inaugurated, the 25 May, by Gwenaëlle Huet, General Director of Engie France Renouvelables, president of Engie Green and Jean-Claude Perdigues, general manager of Engie Green in the presence of representatives of local authorities. This counted 28,6 million euros park covers 50 hectares and includes two power plants, La Montane Sud in service since early 2017 and La Montane Nord since 28 November 2017. In total, its 71 200 photovoltaic panels develop a power of 24 MWp. Production is expected to reach nearly 32 million kw / hr per year, which is the power consumption of more than 13 000 people.

The operator used an innovative technology called "one axis trackers", which allows the panels to be oriented according to the course of the sun in order to optimize solar gain. An experimental battery storage system linked to a supervision (information and alarm feedback from the site) and control tool was installed to monitor production and send storage or destocking instructions. This technology must compensate for the intermittence of renewable energies to adapt to the needs of the electricity grid.

A concerted project with the territory

This project was launched in 2011 by the Syndicat Mixed Development of the Pays de Tulle (now Tulle Agglo) as part of a call for projects for the development of a solar park on a plot of the ZAC La Montane . Engie Green has been retained in 2012 for the construction and operation of this park. This project was then selected in 2015 following calls for tenders from the Energy Regulatory Commission.

Engie Green has sought priority from local companies, particularly for electrical installation, track layout and construction. A crowdfunding campaign, initially reserved for Corréziens, was then launched in collaboration with its partner ENERFIP, a crowdfunding platform dedicated to renewable energy projects. Some 200 000 euros were collected, of which nearly 20% invested by the inhabitants of Corrèze. The economic benefits of the park are estimated at nearly 300 000 euros per year to be divided between municipalities, Department of Corrèze and New Aquitaine region.

A management plan will also be put in place to monitor the evolution of fauna and flora. The plots will be maintained by ovine grazing to limit the environmental impact.

Two other units with a power of approximately 15 MWc are currently in project, the worksite could start after 2020. The Montane power station is the second operated by Engie Green after Roc du Doun power of 12 MWc in service for three years in Gros-Chastang.

Solar: Total wants to install 10 gigawatts within ten years in France

Paris 28 June 2018

The CEO of oil giant Total Patrick Pouyanné announced Thursday that his group had the objective of installing 10 gigawatts (GW) of solar power capacity in France within ten years.

The group plans to install solar panels on some of its service stations as well as all of its sites in France, detailed Mr. Pouyanné who spoke at the Ministry of ecological transition and solidarity on the occasion of the announcement of the government's solar support plan.

"We have set a target of 10 GW at ten years," said the CEO of Total, estimating that 100 GW should be commissioned in France in the next 15 years if the country wants to achieve its energy transition goals. One gigawatt represents 1.000 megawatts.

"We have industrial sites (...) which represent nearly 600 MW to install with us and therefore we will install these sites. All our sites will be solarized," he detailed, adding that the group also "engaged in the solarization of 800 stations (service) in the country".

Total would also like to exploit some of its brownfields and pleaded for special public support for these sites, located mainly in the north of France.

"We would have to find a way to encourage them," pleaded Mr. Pouyanné, explaining that currently planning procedures on brownfields "are more complicated" than on virgin land.

Total has been involved in solar since 2011, especially abroad, when it took a majority stake in SunPower.

Recently, the group also got its hands on a solar portfolio in France, via the takeover of the energy supplier Direct Energie, which had acquired last year the producer of renewable energies Quadran. The latter operated late 2017 near 200 solar megawatts in France.

Total also launched a dedicated subsidiary, Total Solar, which won 2017's end for 32 MW projects during the second national tender for buildings and small shadehouses.

Bouches-du-Rhône: The first French solar panel recycling plant opens in Rousset

This Thursday will be inaugurated in Rousset the first photovoltaic panels processing site ...

Mathilde Ceilles the 04 / 07 / 18

It's a first in France. This Thursday will be officially inaugurated the only unit for recycling photovoltaic panels in the Hexagon in the town of Rousset, in the Bouches-du-Rhone. This first-ever four-year contract for the treatment and recovery of used solar panels was won by the Veolia waste management specialist.

This is great news, because if the energy production is clean between the batteries and the panels, when you think about it, install photovoltaic can brake a few people.

Solar: 103 winners for the fourth tranche of a national tender

AFP
published the 06 August 2018 at 19h50
The Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition unveiled Monday the 103 winners of the fourth tranche of a national tender for the development of ground-based photovoltaic plants.

The awarded projects represent a total capacity of 720 megawatts, which corresponds to the fourth out of six blocks of a 3.000 MW tender launched in 2016.

The average price of electricity proposed by the winners is 58,2 euros per megawatt hour, a decrease of 5% compared to the previous tranche, said the ministry in a statement.

It even falls to 52 euros / MWh if we consider larger projects, larger than 5 MW.

"This is the lowest price found in France for solar power plants", underlines the ministry, which specifies that this price "approaches the market price".

New Aquitaine is the leading beneficiary region in terms of installed capacity, with 168,6 MW allocated, ahead of Occitanie region (157,3 MW) and Center-Val de Loire (84,8 MW).

The next two installments of the RFP for ground-based solar projects will be for a volume of 850 MW each, the ministry says.

Start of construction of France's first floating solar power station

AFP 20 / 09 / 2018

The renewable energy producer Akuo Energy announced Thursday the start of construction of the first floating solar power plant in France, which will be installed on the lake of a former quarry in Piolenc in the Vaucluse.

With a capacity of 17 megawatts, its 47.000 photovoltaic panels will spread over 17 hectares on the surface of the lake and will cover the consumption of more than 4.700 homes, details Akuo Energy in a statement.

Currently, have been experienced in France only a few very small solar parks floating a few tens of kilowatts. This plant will be the first of such a significant size.

If solar floating is already well developed in Asia, especially in Japan and China, Europe still has no plant of size comparable to those installed on earth.

Floating systems have the advantage of reducing conflicts of use with agriculture for example, which can slow the expansion of solar on land.

For his project, Akuo Energy uses the technology developed by the world leader in the sector, the French SME Ciel et Terre, with whom he signed a license agreement for France.

The Piolenc power station was partly financed by crowdfunding, open to people with a residence in the Vaucluse. The town hall of the municipality has also invested in the project.

Electricity will be sold on the market and will benefit from the public supplementary compensation support system to guarantee a minimum price for the electricity that will be produced.

Excuse my intrusion ...

My all these installations monstrously dementielles ... It does not concern you for a moment ???

While there are so many surfaces already built by man and roofs (sometimes abandoned) properly oriented (south more or less).

Another deviation from the famous and so darling transition ... It is almost disgusting ... To vomit.
