Rain energy ??

by avygel » 02/09/08, 10:04

I remember reading, some time ago an article in 'sciences et vie' on the production of electricity by transforming
the force produced by the drops of water falling to the ground.

In the article, the energy produced by drop is obviously low
but I would like to know where it is, if there have been advances or if this method is only a sweet dream of a researcher ?!

here is meri in advance.

do the calculation: water weight x height = energy

you will see that the figure is low

but the edf does it very well: but with the weight of water falling on an entire region and the height of a mountain ...

Already mentioned and calculated the potential with gray water ... and gutters.

By profitable at all on an individual scale and at the scale of a city this would pose problems of waste water disposal.
