Hydrogen in diesel engines

by Pierre-Yves » 27/04/08, 12:06

I came across two sites that market a system injecting hydrogen into diesel engines. Has anyone ever heard of these processes? Are the profits touted by these firms real?

ah, be careful, on this site if you talk about hydrogen on demand, we will ask you for a flow measurement! : Cheesy:
13 amps and 4 liters of distilled water for 10.000 km ... not much! for 10% savings guaranteed ...

Pierre-Yves have you not yet mounted water doping on your test trawler?

You would have better results than these doping with H2 ... and I'm not even talking about the price ...

I know that you are skeptical especially in terms of security and reliability but doping with H2 poses exactly the same problems ... I would say it's even worse ...

Not yet, but it will come !! I advance cautiously because I want to have the system validated by a marine engine manufacturer. I must also take a tour of the achievements of Boulogne and elsewhere, to understand why it does not work, when there are lots of very positive returns with tractors.

Ah phew, I thought you had lost hope and abandoned the idea ... for the conditions read my last email ...

Is there a lot of work in Boulogne?

Without paranoia, personally I would not count much on the support and endorsement of engine manufacturers: they have nothing to gain by improving the life and performance of old engines ...

Although in the navy, there are more complete refits than engine changes.

By the way, what is the average lifespan of a trawler motor (before refit and before total change)? Or rather: what is the average age of the engines in the trawler fleet that you know?
