CO2 cargo and sea and air transport

by Christophe » 21/02/08, 10:24

We talked recently about the CO2 impact of cargo ships.
After intelligence and slon a recent UN report it would pollute in absolute terms and on the CO2 about 2 times more than air transport.

Thus the share of maritime transport by sea transport is about 4,5% while aviation is about 2% (but the latter believe very quickly!).

Nevertheless, in unit ton.km, maritime transport is the cleanest transport in the world because of the mass effect!

FYI, the reduction of maritime transport is currently not integrated with policies to fight against global warming, especially in Europe.

But this is not really surprising, it is necessary to fight above all on the emissions which have the greatest impact in order to have more efficiency not? From the style the heating of private individuals ... : roll:
