Agro-fuels and biofuel: global impact and synthesis

by Christophe » 27/11/07, 09:47

Valbiom has just published a very interesting summary document concerning biofuels (agrofuels) and biofuels (agro-fuels).

Introduction:

Biofuels are the subject of intense controversy, sometimes very demagogic. By using concrete arguments and as much as possible with figures, ValBiom wishes to draw attention to the merits of a biofuel development policy and of the measures that can be devised to limit the possible negative effects.

Summary:

- Introduction
- Energy diversification in transport
- CO2 balance
- Biofuels and deforestation
- Agricultural environmental impact
- Influence on agricultural prices
- Agriculture potential
- Socio-economic impact
- Rational use of energy

Bonjour à tous

The article is very interesting, the side against the current against the lobbies in place ....

A bizarre element in the argument on biofuel prices:

Putting the curves of the price of oil and biofuels on the same graph is a bit surreal. Between the differences in quantities involved, the differences in the maturity of the sectors, the movement of regulations and taxation etc ... a balancing act : Mrgreen:

Hello,

new member, I had not seen this subject and I wrote a small review there:

We can not say it enough: think globally, act locally.
In other words, common sense near you. Simple, right?
