You are probably right but in the field of wild columbines in which I used myself ... they do not do like that ... Image

They recover on their own approximately in June.

The seeds fall to the ground and rebelotte ...

Why bother to sow them in the spring and not spread them when, in the wild, they sow themselves ???

That is the question :?:

because humans always think they're smarter, and especially because they work the land and turn it over before winter and spring, well, they can't do like nature : Mrgreen:

I also think that the indicated "method" is based on the fact that it "MUST" do a digging in the fall, then "PREPARE THE EARTH FINE" in the spring ...

And so we find ourselves out of time compared to what happens in nature ...

But a plant only wanting to grow, it will grow! Which suggests to the man that he found a good method!

I cut a shrub in July 2017, but I did not uproot it, suckers come out of the ground recently, a year without anything and there it starts again, same for my mulberry moved in the spring, suckers come from everywhere around from the location of the old foot, several meters
so when it wants, it grows, I really do not understand why the non-tillage is not needed more widely and more quickly

The advice given, it seems to me, followed the problem mentioned of the hybridization of Ancolies and certainly in a controlled horticultural environment ... So if you want to be sure to have such Ancolie in such place .... the advice given.

I think that nico, do not seek control and that therefore natural hybridization will not upset him more than measure, he will appreciate the flower as it comes
