VIDEO. United States: A bison charges a reckless man to provoke him on a road in Yellowstone

This man was very lucky because many people were injured by bison in Yellowstone Park ...

20 Minutes with agency 03 / 08 / 18

A bison created a traffic jam on a road in Yellowstone National Park (USA) on Tuesday. While all the motorists were quietly waiting in their vehicle, a man decided to get out of his car and provoke the animal.

Fortunately for him, he got away with no injuries. The animal has yet charged twice, reports Actu-Mag.

A bison of 900 kg

It is a motorist who filmed this surprising scene. We see the man out of his vehicle and go to the bison 900 kg to provoke ... The animal then decides to load but the man manages to avoid it. He will finally be slightly hit during a second charge.

VIDEO

Luckily, the animal did not bother about this unconscious and preferred to continue quietly its way. The behavior of the man has been strongly criticized. Many people have been injured in 2018 by bison in Yellowstone. Yet park officials are constantly reminding visitors of the good behavior to adopt with the wild animals present.

Some insect larvae travel by "bird"!

by Yohan Home4 August 2018

Phasmals are insects capable of mimicry, that is to say, to blend in with the decor like a stem, a branch or a leaf. On the other hand, female phasmids are mostly parthenogenetic, which means they do not need males to reproduce.

This raises the question of the future of eggs and wanting to colonize other places. In the course of evolution, phasmids have found a way to travel tens of kilometers (or more): to be devoured by birds, which will then reject the larvae in the wild, strongly contributing to their spread.

For example, researchers at Kobe, Kochi and Tokyo (Japan) universities were interested in egg sticks, which are particularly resistant to digestive juices once contained in a bird's stomach. As part of their study published in the journal of the Ecology Society of America (ESA) 29 May 2018, Japanese scientists have conducted an amazing experiment.

Researchers fed brown-eared Bulbul (Hypsipetes amaurotis) with females of three different species. Between 5 and 20% of recovered eggs were intact, and these did give birth to insects.

For decades, Charles Darwin had wondered how such totally flightless insects could end up on many Pacific islands. The answer - remember it was far from obvious - was yet in the bird droppings! Finally, there is no doubt that this is an evolutionary victory that ensured the survival of these insects.

Puy du fou: ravens crushers butts come into action
Concretely, when the raven lays a trash in a box, a mechanism is triggered, and a kibble is delivered to him.

These garbage collectors are a bit peculiar. Six crows, specially trained for the collection of butts and garbage, will participate next week in the cleaning of the leisure park of Puy du Fou, said Friday August 10 its president, Nicolas de Villiers.

Among these birds, some have already entered into action, the others to join them from Monday. "The objective is not simply to clean, because visitors are generally respectful of cleanliness, but also to carry out an educational action", showing that "nature itself can teach us to take care of the environment" , he explained to AFP.

A "particularly intelligent" bird
The idea germinated, "several years ago, in the mind of one of the falconers in the park, from bird watching," said Nicolas de Villiers. The selected species, the "rook" raven, is a "particularly intelligent" bird, which "when in a supportive affective atmosphere, likes to communicate with man and establish a relationship with him through play".

Christophe Gaborit, specialist in raptor affaitage, therefore "invented a small box", containing on one side croquettes, "which ravens love", and offering on the other an empty space, intended to "accommodate cigarette ends, or other small waste, "continued Nicolas de Villiers.

When the crow places a butt in the box, a mechanism is triggered, and a kibble is delivered to him. "Motivated by the reward", the crows "quickly understood how the game worked," he said.

The installation was then reorganized so that a single box, "the size of a wheelbarrow", allows all the birds to deposit their loot and Christophe Gaborit to play the "conductors". The birds are "very fast": in less than three quarters of an hour, a crow is able "to fill a bucket", he added.

A "particularly intelligent" bird

The same can not be said of those who threw their butts. Apparently it's easier to train a rook than a smoker ... : Mrgreen:

Channel: the video of a girl rescued by her dog in Gouville-sur-Mer makes the buzz
A video of a dog, scared for the safety of a little girl, and bringing her back to the sand in Gouville-sur-Mer is the buzz on the Internet since 3 August 2018.
Posted on 17 August 18 to 17: 44
Friday 3 August 2018, a little girl bathed in the Channel at Gouville-sur-Mer, Normandy, under the protective eye of the dog of his grandparents, Matyas.

But while the child was having fun with the small waves that crashed on the sand, Matyas worried about his safety and grabbed the girl by the T-shirt with her mouth to bring her back to the beach.

This behavior is not surprising: the dog strives to preserve the integrity of his pack, this is a trait of his sociability; moreover, the child is perceived as not having a complete autonomy, therefore falling under his responsibility as an adult (it is generally wolves of "lower" rank who take care of the cubs, since the dominant ones lead hunting or defense of the territory).
In the same way, if two family members pretend to fight, it is common for the dog to intervene and try to separate them.
These altruistic behaviors are basically very selfish: the best chance of survival of a wolf / dog is in the group of which it is a part.

If all living things that try to survive are egoistic, egoism is universal ...

For dogs, we could speak of "collective egoism", but I think we could find another word :)

Yes, you're right, but I'm using this term only to emphasize the ambivalence of this behavior ... or concept. This must be compared to the theory of the "selfish gene", because, in the case of wolves, all are related in the same pack (since only the dominant pair reproduces).

Austria: He takes the train with his horse, among other passengers

HALLU The railway company took the thing with humor, but wanted to recall some basic rules ...

Image

A somewhat original passenger rode this Wednesday on a regional train in Austria. A man is indeed boarded a wagon with ... his horse.

Many rowing passengers shared photos of this unusual moment on social networks, quickly relayed by the Austrian national railway company ÖBB.
