I can do shorter, too!

The "Tour de France des Potagers du Paresseux" will take at least a year longer ... But I want it.

The book we read on the beaches?

I am amazed at the ranking this morning, full heat wave, at the beginning of August:

I am reading the book by Marc-André Selosse: "Never alone ....".

Very interesting, indeed, for those who want to understand symbiosis, mycorrhizae, mutualism, etc ... Very scientific, with precise examples. Even if he tried to find pleasant formulas (comparable to my "bad words"), it remains much more academic, with the following paragraph which is announced as it should, etc ... The discoverers are quoted with precision, sometimes with a little anecdote, and year of birth / year of death.

No doubt a bit more difficult than mine, but for who wants to understand, indispensable.

He is also out of order.

I was amazed to find "allegories" that I also use, without having read his book so far, but which predates mine, so that one might wonder if I plagiarized it !!! What a shock. He speaks, about mycorrhizae, of "subcontracting" the tedious work, for the plants, to fetch water or mineral salts. Or the fact that with a thickness ten times less, with the same amount of organic matter, the fungus goes 100 times farther than the plant (a calculation I had made on a piece of post-it while writing my book) . I find, quite logically, the same thing in Selosse's book, but as said, what a shock!

A nice review posted on Amazon:

ByLibraryMember of Tester's Club9 August 2018

Yes finally a little simplicity and it feels good. I've had lots of books with equally complicated theories and the one with the big advantage even if it's quite logical, that it is the nature that works to produce the best, because yes it is the nature that will make the most of it and not any fertilizer.
Delighted to see that a good part of the book is dedicated to the ground and it is the base.

For some it's too complicated. For others, simplicity!

The comment - nice - of the day, on Amazon

ByArcileMEMBRE OF THE TESTER CLUB 20 August 2018

The author of this original book exposes with humor and science a method of culture different from traditional approaches: we stop hoeing, digging, weeding, the bare land is a misinterpretation, other solutions exist.
It is with a real knowledge and a great pedagogy that the author guides the new gardeners step by step in their search for a less exhausting and more efficient culture.
Step 1: the earth should not remain naked (too much work to begin again ad vitam eternam), the author explains how to cover it with hay. He carefully explains the role of bacteria, rhizomes and fungi.
Step 2: Sow and plant in the hay is develop (photographs illustrate the techniques).
Step 3: all the tips for a successful garden.

I found this book particularly rich, documented and clear. It allows everyone to get an idea about the method of phenoculture and to address with serenity this way of gardening that saves a lot of energy (the author is inspired by the forest, always clean and balanced). It interested me particularly and I tested on a small zone this method: fresh manure of hens, straw, seeds and tearing of the perennials. For me who could not grow anything other than cherry tomato plants (everything dries up at home, on an arid and clayey soil, filled with grasses), the method worked very well (and yet my soil is hard and clay!). I got without effort tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and squash. It's a modest start, but a very encouraging start! Thank you Mr. Helmstetter!

The latest information:

1) The classification remains good, even if, out of season, it is necessarily necessary:

3) A third 3 000 reprint is imminent. This will bring the draw to 14 000.

4) The principle of a second volume is recorded with the director of Tana. Remain more than ..... write it!

does not the new vegetable season start in the autumn after the harvests, to prepare the next ones, so it's time to cultivate oneself intellectually with a good book, before cultivating the earth
