[Video] Capuchins have entered the Stone Age!

Researchers have recently discovered a group of Capuchins who used stones as tools. The discovery is exceptional, as it is only the fourth monkey group to do this.

By starting to use the stones, the Capuchins will be able to increase enormously their chances of survival. The males that the scientists observed could break the shell of the crabs and nuts. This represents a new source of food for them.

Unique groups of Capuchins
The groups of Capuchins observed live in some parts of the island of Jicarón, a small island located next to Panama. It is part of Coiba National Park. This park is composed of three islands. On each of them, we find groups of Capuchins everywhere in the jungle. However, only male specimens from certain areas of Jicarón Island seem to be able to use stone tools.
