we do not really understand how the water and carbon battery works if you can explain it to us? it seems that the hydrogen is produced during the charge is housed in the graphite and conversely it produces water, it is rather a fuel cell ??
I was comparing this cell with the energy density, which seemed to be very low compared to that of liquid nitrogen. after all you do not seem to know anything about liquid nitrogen

https://newatlas.com/energy/rmit-proton ... y-density/RMIT engineers claim to have tripled the energy density of inexpensive, rechargeable and recyclable proton flow batteries, which can now challenge commercially available lithium-ion batteries for capacity with a specific energy density of 245 Wh/kg.

If the energy density is the same…what are the other advantages?
How often do you have to change the water? Is it included in the density?

If a commercial prototype sees the light of day, we will know more. , but no matter how, an alternative to lithium, cobalt, nickel will be needed https://newatlas.com/energy/battery-lit ... ticle-body

Leave it concrete: it's not a battery, it's an H2 generator or a fuel cell (inverted?)...according to the summary...which I flew over in 10 seconds...

You throw the baby out with the bathwater, whenChristophe wrote:Leave it concrete: it's not a battery, it's an H2 generator or a fuel cell (inverted?)...according to the summary...which I flew over in 10 seconds...
Let's wait for their prototype“Our proton battery has much lower losses than conventional hydrogen systems, making it directly comparable to lithium-ion batteries in terms of energy efficiency.”

Re: Proton: lithium-free batteries that could change the world
for now it's 100% Blablabla.
Otherwise the battery with fairly cheap materials exists: it is the Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo)
it is even stronger and chemically more stable than other Li-Ons.
Lower energy density, but clearly above Lead and Nicad.

Our…system at H2…= Blablabla
In addition, it is a gas plant which prohibits any mobile use...where there is the greatest demand for storage...
So there are publications without even a proton? Uh a prototype...

Zero hassle, zero blabla? Oh no I was wrong...
LiFePo4 or LiFe batteries I tested in the context of the project you know...it's not at all the miracle in terms of announced lifespan and chemical resilience...the energy and power density are mediocre...barely double the lead…
Apparently it's still the technology chosen for the next Tesla (Tesla fans get hard on renaming the LFP thing..)...or even the current models already...but as Tesla is almost hitting the weight...
