Another step of franchie: https://www.lesechos.fr/tech-medias/hig ... 146707.php

It's a first. The systems developed by Chinese Alibaba and Microsoft gave more good answers than humans during a reading and comprehension test at Stanford University.

The curve of AI progress is likely to increase, that of humans certainly to decrease: necessarily they will eventually cross and reverse ... :(

A short video of Guillaume Meurice to relax.

Note: there is probably a typo under the title which should be: "Artificial intelligence versus human (or natural?) Stupidity" ...

Artificial intelligence, it does not exist. It is an abuse of language.
Another example: in 2016, another machine (Deep Mind) beat the world champion of Go. Go is much more complex than chess because this game is not mathematically finished. We do not even know the number of combinations (but we know that they are much more numerous than chess). To achieve this feat, unimaginable a few years ago, it was necessary to build an ultra-powerful machine, consisting of 1200 CPUs, 176 GPUs and several TPUs (tensor processing units, chips designed for TensorFlow). The result: an impressive consumption of more than 400 kWh - 20 000 times more than a human brain, which consumes only 20 Wh. All this riot of energy has been concentrated on one goal: to master the game of Go. This machine knows nothing else; Go's world champion does other things in his life. Strong arguments that prove once again that these algorithms have nothing to do with intelligence.

The rare document and incredible journey of a French inventor, who at the age of nine had already built a robot to make his bed and was then one of the two creators of Siri. His goal here is to wring havoc around the stereotypes and fantasies that surround AI today.

You do not understand anything about artificial intelligence (AI)? Are you afraid that evil robots will take power and end up controlling the world? You are interested in AI and new technologies, but would you like to hear another story? So this book is for you!
“It all started with a huge misunderstanding. In 1956, at the Dartmouth conference, John McCarthy convinced his colleagues to use the term 'artificial intelligence' to describe a discipline that had nothing to do with intelligence All the fantasies and misconceptions that we are fed today derive from this unfortunate name.
In this book, I invite you to follow me, from my little village near Toulouse to Silicon Valley, in the footsteps of this famous "artificial intelligence" about which we hear so much nonsense, to understand what it is act exactly and anticipate what it can hold in store for us in the future.
Because today I say it loud and clear: artificial intelligence does not exist! "

Dr. LUC JULIA is one of the two creators of Apple's voice assistant, Siri. He is now Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer of the new Samsung Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (SAIL) in Paris.

There is indeed no non-living system capable of intelligence, at least this information should not comfort us all because the process of artificialization of the world is going well.

Let's go back to the origin of the use of the word robot, the play "RUR"; there has always been the concept that if we developed a machine intelligence, there would be a cybernetic revolt. The machines would rise up against us. A major consequence of this work may be that during all these decades, we had the whole concept of cybernetic revolt upside down. The machines do not become intelligent then megalomaniac then try to conquer the world. It is rather the opposite, that the insistence to take the control of all possible futures is a more fundamental principle than that of intelligence, general intelligence could indeed emerge directly from this type of takeover, rather than the opposite. You say that, you say nothing, it's the same, as for "She's cute but should nevertheless document herself seriously before transmitting received ideas" ... You might as well write nothing.
