Let's not make this story all a cheese!

But it also shows that a long time ago, long before the internet, "ideas", recipes, people circulated across Europe. Each with their own ways of doing things. The happy mess today is the result of these crossbreeding!

[It would take too long for me to tell you how viticulture arrived in South Africa, from French branches, via Huguenots, political refugees - we didn't say that at the time - in Holland; all because the Dutch sailors calling in Cape Town found the stillage disgusting and threatened to strike - well, it was more of a revolt; we had not yet invented the strike, we were revolting! A corner of the vineyard is still called "Franschhoek" - the French corner

It's not just cheese! Aaaah the French and the appellations "not original":

You even have a French President who calls himself Holland! : Shock: : Mrgreen: : Cheesy:
Product of dubious designation, the origin of which is controlled abroad!

In Martigny, we have very good Champagne (but it comes from ... Champagne ...), the Martini does not come from Martigny! : Cheesy:

Whether the appellation is allowed to be reserved (or not ...) for the region of origin, should not be the alibi that allows one to remain in error, since it is above all not to believe in the ability of regions to produce their own local gems!

I did not write that Emmental is French. I talked about the (industrial) production of French Emmental. [/ Quote]
Precisely! If we admit Emmental as being Swiss, can we still use the adjective "French"?
It's like continuing to use the denomination "french gruyère", we perpetuate the errors of confusion between real products of appellation and controlled origin, with copies (more or less good) while it would be so much simpler and rewarding to create products and appellations of terroir (you tell yourself that there are cases where it deserved to be reviewed, and that it was in Alsace).
It's ambiguous : Mrgreen:

Are you talking about Champagne from the village of Champagne, in the canton of Vaud, near my home, or about Champagne in France?

Not easy all this...

Trying too hard to get into the mold, it ends up looking like a pie.

It is closed, it was to know the intention of lazy gardeners when buying or not a furrow.
And assess the possibility of making a group purchase.
Some are currently considering making one with a motor.
