Hello Did67, hello to all the "econologists"
After reading the 208 pages agriculture / gardening-more-than-bio-by-plant-live-without-fatigue-t13846.html I would like to thank Did67 for all the "work" (comments, sharing experiences, photos, videos, etc.) that he does despite his health problems.
Originally from Alsace (Mulhouse) and finding myself in the south of France (about St Chinian) recently, I share his passion for the cover and the soil life: my grandfather had already instilled.
Some pictures are better than long speeches to start:
- Old vegetable garden cultivated "traditionally" then left fallow for about 2 years (before my arrival), cleared then covered with "weeds" and everything that came to my hands.
- No tillage, just furrows for sowing
Thanks again to Did67 I feel less alone
Life is present too:
Good end of season to all

Hi and thank you Christophe,
This post was meant to be a nod and a support for Did67
I did not think I deserved a subject especially as a result of a change in family situation (divorce ) I will have to find a new small plot and start from scratch, still without tillage and with a permanent cover (hay, straw, weeds or any other vegetation cover)

Any interesting subject deserves a subject, which is the case of your vegetable garden!
And then it will perhaps attract Hérault "neighbors"!
Visibility is important and the competition of the web is hard now ...

Thanks again,
For the moment, my neighbors are still in bare soil culture (photos taken at 18h tonight).
They look with a strange eye on my garden which is not clean but after a 1e year with harvests similar to theirs with much less work, some finally ask questions instead of criticizing
If these few photos can decide some Hérault (es) to cover their ground in order to save water and over-the-counter products, I will have "done my part" (dixit the hummingbird)

Hello phil53,
Not to be jealous, these pepper plants were given to me by a market gardener of the village, I only opened holes in my clay soil to water them and redo the level of coverage. These are my first peppers .
I enjoy the generous advice of my neighbor gardens (former miner Lorraine) who spades and still returns his land but begins to cover his soil.
The village of Babeau is crossed by Vernazobre and the gardens are irrigated by a béal which deviates a part of the water of the brook. Gardeners here dig furrows at the foot of the rows of crops and irrigate generously.

Hi Green68, I just landed on the forum econology and what a surprise to discover a lazy vegetable garden near my home! I'm on Cessenon and I'm also going to start a "lazy way" vegetable garden. If you want us to meet to talk about the garden, I'm available. In addition, being in the region for a short time, the advice of a native would be welcome.

I'm just just jealous of such a harvest.
How do you make leeks the same?
Second year, second failure here, they always have the size of a pencil.
I have to add fertilizers, they tell me. I did it reluctantly, and for good reason, it did not change anything
Made put nettle manure I am told, I did, they are still small. Proud and straight but small
Well, I planted them very late (early September, but given the warm autumn we had) and they are often in the shade ... Should they be in full sun?
Next year, I plan to sow myself and plant them in time I hope in my hay cover .... hope is alive

One must never despair, but continually seek the cause of the problem. Perhaps the climate sawtooth or poor quality plants as often found in garden centers. The must is to do your own seeding, it takes time and especially space, but we control everything from A to Z (provided you choose your seed supplier)
