Dual-fuel generator sets?
Is it possible to change a generator that works on diesel into a generator called "Dual-fuel" (which works on both fuel and gas)?

Re: Generating sets
it is possible because it exists
but in what condition? professional project or DIY?
what power ?
for small power I find it more convenient to take a real gasoline engine than to change a diesel ... diesel in dual fuel oil is interesting for big power or it is difficult to find gasoline engine

Re: Dual-fuel generator sets?
To my knowledge, it is not so simple.
I visited the Schnell factory, a German specialist in dual fuel cogeneration plants. They work on the basis of Scania or Mitsubishi engines, but they are deeply reworked. I saw the engines completely boned ... In particular, the injectors are replaced by micro-injectors that must be cooled by changing the cylinder head ... This was one of their big problems ... I think the heads of cylinder and camshafts are modified also to fit the slower gas inflammation ...
Well, these are some memories. We were not entitled to all the secrets either ...
It is complicated!
