Yes, but as mentioned above, there is gibberish, promises, and there are facts.
We must get to the bottom of the problem: why want to improve the human ???
Disciplines have existed since the dawn of time, often qualified as spiritual, which aim at this, but it seems to me that in the case of transhumanism it is not an initiatory journey aimed at attaining enlightenment, but rather at develop a juicy business!
In this case, could we consider that Nietzsche works in favor of transhumanism? He indeed considers man as being a bridge between animal and superhuman if I remember correctly (in "Thus Spoke Zarathustra). But for once in the sense of Nietzsche, he does indeed speak of personal development (d 'awakening as you say), and the ability to overcome certain constraints.
But actually, it is probably very easy for big brands in the high-tech sector (such as Google or Apple) to use (bypass) this notion of transhumanism to sell their products. Obviously with the aim of making people believe that this makes the human being grow as a whole (Nietzsche would of course be horrified by this idea). On the contrary, he would no doubt consider these new technologies as an additional constraint.
In any case, very interesting debate.

Nietzche's work has largely been distorted throughout history.
The Nazis used part of the ideology of the superman to justify the establishment of racial eugenics ... we know the horrible result of all this!
Man, like everything in the Universe is subject to evolution, everything is only permanent change ...
Homo sapiens is therefore only a transition to another form, in reality, the terms that we use to define the world around us only have value in a given space-time, before we were primates, tomorrow we will still be "something else", we can't fix anything ...
If we go beyond Nietzche's vision, it appears that all spirituality aims to connect human beings to the absolute and those by different means, so it would be logical that one day the descending man primate evolves into something "higher", this is very allegorically exposed in the 2001 film S. Kubrick's Space Odyssey.
But actually, it is probably very easy for big brands in the high-tech sector (such as Google or Apple) to use (bypass) this notion of transhumanism to sell their products.
Transhumanism in the sense that it is currently used refers to a desire to increase the capacities of the human being, but it is necessary to understand that this logic is not an end in itself, but a consequence of the economic system.
This is a fundamental point to understand.
The idea here is not to lead man towards the absolute, but to fit to the economic system, due to the ultra-rapid evolution that this is subjecting to our environment.
It is a direct consequence of the laws of thermodynamics.
Such a project is doomed to failure, because once mired in this "matrix", "augmented man" will have as much freedom as a washing machine!
