Energy drinks: Redbull and Co., it's dla meeerde!

A nod to Jean Pierre Koffe in the title ... what was to happen happened: a US scientific study assumes the dangerousness of energy drinks, especially mixed with alcohol (and say that Vodka Redbull is one of the favorite drinks girls in a box ... aie aie aie ...)

France was well away ... by banning these drinks for years (ban lifted a few years ago ...)

To drink in moderation. As in the case of alcohol, energy drinks should not be consumed in excessive amounts. Since 2007, the United States has seen a doubling of the number of people admitted to hospital emergencies following abuse of energy drinks.

In 2011, 20.000 patients have been visiting US emergencies for this reason while, four years earlier, their number was from 10.000, noted a survey by the Department of Addictions and Mental Health at the US Department of Health. A progression that will not improve the image of energy drinks in the eyes of US health authorities.

The equivalent of 5 cups of coffee per can

"A patient who recently came to the emergency room at a Cleveland hospital said he drank three cans in the space of an hour, the equivalent of 15 cups of coffee," explains Howard Mell, a doctor at the hospital. suburb of Cleveland who is also a spokesperson for the American college of emergency physicians, reports the Huffington Post.

"He got off with a big fright, luckily for him. But if he had had heart problems or coronary artery disease, it could have caused him big trouble," adds the emergency physician. Note that most cases recorded in US hospitals in 2011 were not linked to an association with alcohol. A practice which is also denounced by the health authorities.

Serious consequences in case of abuse

The abuse of these beverages highly dosed in caffeine or taurine would be the source of signs of anxiety, tachycardia and even myocardial infarction. Consumption alone can also cause severe dehydration and acute renal failure. Several deaths deemed suspect related to these energy drinks have already been reported.

In France too, these cans stuffed with caffeine are under surveillance. The French National Food Safety Agency (Anses) has already recalled that "these drinks are reserved for adults and not recommended for pregnant women, that they must be consumed in moderation and that, unlike energy drinks [ intended for sports, editor's note], the consumption of energy drinks is not suitable for the practice of intense physical activity".

Despite these risks, energy drinks have entered French life. The ACNielsen Institute indicates that it sells about 30 million liters of these beverages in the Hexagon per year. Figures that continue to grow.

birth control pills are very dangerous for the circulatory system and girls continue to take them anyway! Like what a possible and even proven danger is not dissuasive when there is dependence!
