hello grandpa stone

24 / 20 means what exactly, in metric dimensions :?:

you could have even put an even bigger one to run your engine at 1100 rpm for 10 km / h to consume less

pity that there is not a gearbox, you could have tried different report and note the consumption for each speed while staying at 10 km / h

at most the engine is loaded, at least it will consume in relation to the work produced

in your case, it is necessary that it turns as slowly as possible while making you advance to your 10 km / h

In the standard one always expresses a propeller by is diameter and its not even for the planes (except in France each helicopter has numbers which relates to which I never understood)

24 20
24 inches in diameter = 61cm
20 inch of pitch = 51cm
On a cessna 172 propeller Mac Cauley DTM 75 53
either a 75 "suede and a 53" pitch

On a fast engine 5,7litre V8 250CV 3800 rpm petrol engine we put an 16 19 in aluminum

re Goodnight

why for the houseboat, do not opt for a smaller engine driving an alternator, with batteries and electric motor of 20 Kw, it should be enough, and possibility of small maneuver only batteries ...

a hybridized barge in short.

Hello Grandpa Peter
You have made the situation very clear: this big engine was not expensive and you would like to make it work in the most economical way possible.
Putting a smaller engine is theoretically a good solution but may result in unrealistic costs.
Since this engine is installed, how to pantoniser it?
Would a larger or faster propeller not allow more engine loading and enough exhaust temperature to allow the operation of a Pantone reactor?

I'm trying to bring this up because I feel that Grandpa Peter did not find a real answer to his question.
Personally, I am not a pantoniser, so I am not competent, but I suppose that the first step is to measure the temperature of the exhaust to check if it is sufficient to allow the operation of a reactor.
Once this is done, contact the Spad manufacturers, for example, for advice, as they are used to pantonizing tractors that are similar to those of a boat engine.
