Pressure problem with my rainwater recovery pump

by stephie45 » 26/11/08, 10:14

Hello
we had a house built last year and we had a rainwater recovery tank installed there (toilets and washing machine). everything worked fine but for 1 month, the pump pressure has been working once in 2. For example, when I flush the pump, the pump starts up but after 5 seconds, the pressure drops to 0 and suddenly, the pump no longer plays its role and the water does not fill the toilet. ..
anyone have an explanation?
please

A little vague as a question ... it is surely a problem with the blower (bladder) or a valve ...

We have a lot of cases resolved on forums: problem with water pump

But question: after only 1 year, is it not yet under warranty?

Have you looked at the suction strainer? This is where we have to start. If it is obstructed it can be the cause of the evil ...

ba no, no longer guaranteed because the tank was installed in July and it is only one year for the parts.
I will look at the information you have given me, I will see

Well, the guarantee is something that is negotiated ... especially for stuff worth several thousand euros ... Well, it is useless to say that but still ... Then it's not the tank but the pump...

But nothing prevents to call the installer! Advice is free isn't it?

    - Is the tank full
    - Is the strainer clean
    - The strainer plunges into the water
    - The water level sensor is closed (pump supply on demand)
    - Does the control pressure switch engage
    - Is the pressure maintenance balloon inflated to 1 bar.

Question: does the pump motor work
still or not after 5 sec?
The causes can be:
- defused pump
- motor thermal switched on
-turbinue of the pump blocked by a strange body
-rocked water supply.
-etc...

and suddenly, the pump no longer plays its role and water does not fill the toilet ...

This is the consequence of the problem, more than finding the cause.

You should start by checking the suction filter. Be careful, sometimes there is a small filter hidden just before the pump. If this is the case, it is located at the union fitting which is located at the pump intake.
