Ecological habitat. Which materials to choose?
Friedrich Kur, Living Earth, 1998

Image

F. Kur begins by describing the criteria to be taken into account for the choice of materials and how to calculate their impact on the environment (watch out for preconceived ideas!). Then, he makes a list by describing their properties, their uses and assesses their impact on the environment.

In short, a short book, precise and full of common sense.

Thank you for the information....

Who is this Friedrich Kur? What appealed to you in this book compared to the panoply of books on the subject?

Hello philflamine

I answer you because it was I who proposed this book.

I admit that I did not have time to learn about F. Kur (lack that I will try to fill).

What attracted me to this book is that it presents the different materials available in an objective manner. I am always quick to try to detect the flaws or the ideologies hidden behind the speeches but there, I believe that it is objective.

In addition, I appreciated that it clearly explains the concepts of thermal conductivity, resistance to water vapor, hygroscopicity etc in short of all the criteria to be taken into account so that your choice really corresponds to your house, its location, any pre-existing materials, the heating system, the lifestyle of the inhabitants ...

PS: I left another part of the answer in the "Isolation" section

Thank you Christine! ;) It's always nice people who share a discovery.

PS: I prefer Christine to Moira, indeed Christophe has good ideas :D
