MCE-5, the VCR-i engine mounted in a Peugeot 407

Transport and new transport: energy, pollution, engine innovations, concept car, hybrid vehicles, prototypes, pollution control, emission standards, tax. not individual transport modes: transport, organization, carsharing or carpooling. Transport without or with less oil.

very interesting, even if a little "warmed up"; good it is a complex linkage system; I note a very well designed kinematic point at 2 min 18 from the video: in the expansion phase, the piston and the connecting rod are coaxial, which greatly limits piston / cylinder friction. Well seen the Ingés! : Idea:

they are almost coaxial, but indeed, it is an improvement in terms of wear. Guy Nègre had also made a similar system but whose function was different, namely delaying the descent of the piston to improve combustion at high point.
The MCE5 system remains the best in terms of simplicity, efficiency and above all, reduction in piston / liner wear.
The problem for them is to have been led by boat (a beautiful boat all the same) while waiting for the patent to fall into the public domain and for there to be no royalties to pay. And long live the SGDG! but this is business and liberal economism!
