I am not sure,

in fact the eccentric (1) pushes on a secondary control shaft (control shaft) via an additional connecting rod (actuator arm) ...

Personally I find it quite heavy as a design. It's heavier than the Nissan VCR (which is already not light: p): in the NIssan VCR, the eccentric arm is directly connected to the "lift" part

infiniti remains a true "gas factory" with no less than 10 points of articulation. Despite everything, MCE5 remains the simplest and therefore the most economical in terms of manufacture, assembly and minimal wear and therefore final cost.

A pretty fantasy, all that ...

While some intelligent manufacturers reduce the number of cylinders, the displacement, and therefore the moving parts and the weight of the whole, here we are offered a Tinguely machine that goes in the opposite direction ....

I would have liked so much to see the development of the "accordion" engine at Saab ...

Thank you for the technical info, so many manufacturers are working on the subject ...

To return to the VCR-i of MCE5, this article http://www.largus.fr/actualite-automobi ... 18384.html evokes the reasons for its "abandonment":

All engine manufacturers are working hard on the subject, looking for the simplest system to machine. This is one of the reasons why the VCRi engine of the French company MCE-5 never saw the light of day.

However, I do not have the impression that the other systems are much less expensive to set up ...

As far as it is perceptible, the VCR of MCE5 is not abandoned since it is Peugeot which carried out the viability tests on its vehicles, with success. What the author of this article does not seem to have understood is that MCE is not an engine manufacturer and therefore there is no “MCE engine”, nor is there an “engine. Pantone "neither.
