Hello bolt

I had already saved this image in my archives and I admit that without your explanation, it had made me a lot of gamberger to see the whole degassing circuit.

I had not thought of a "massive" degassing caused by the diaphragm pump which then pollutes the entire circuit.

In my current loop circuit, there is a high point which is transparent and collects a maximum of gas. I am currently studying to place an automatic heating bleed valve there (decidedly widely used).

Lack of pot, the original float barely floats in the water and therefore ..... sinks in diesel. : Cry:

Another point, the needle of this trap is nothing but a tire valve. Not sure that it supports diesel for a long time ....

How do you, the people who do the loop circuit, somehow turn the gas or live with it? Is it dangerous for the life of the injection pump? :P

Hello
On the old generation Jetta mechanical pump on the diesel filter there is a small menbrame valve which makes a loop on the filter and only the degassing returns to the tank
the filter naturally plays the role of a bubble trap.

In my case I put a small 1 liter bulkhead tank the same principle as the hydraulic tanks to eliminate the emulsion of bubbles .. no problem over 15000 km with this principle

Hi everybody !

well, it's decided, the "aquarium flowmeter" will be used for the consumption of the mainsail!

We work hard ... but the time is sorely lacking !!!

for the cylinder head gasket our mechanic has a magic leg : Lol: it will last as long as it wants ... but it will turn out for this summer

first run on a music festival in the mountains :D :D from 3 or 5 August and the "scientific measurements" for mid August!

the end of the road is not far away : Cheesy: ... patience and time ...

Hi everybody
I'm arriving a little late! I had done the assembly with the Bolt diagram for degassing and the Conrad flowmeter (10 imp / L). In summary the plastic rotor did not work properly in diesel, I redid it in aluminum with Neodymium magnets, I tried to minimize friction as much as possible, another problem the joint between glass tank of degassing jar and the aluminum closing plate was made of resin (Araldite) did not hold but still gave me time to make measurements. I did not put it back in. I would need a truly reliable seal with pressure, temperature and diesel, otherwise it works and gives an interesting relative value: with or without water at almost the same time under the same road conditions. With the bike computer you can make instant measurements (not good as André says) and average over 000 km, 1 km, for example etc.
It does not matter the quality of the fuel its temperature its density since it is at a given time in identical conditions and that what is interesting is the relative measurement.
See my subject on page 28 for example etc.

Good luck !

Hi Michelm :D

better late than never !

I pass from time to time on this interesting subject ... but the forum is vast and almost too rich : Lol:

Thank you for reacting here!

the advantage with the bike computer is that it is the best "display and function" trick to measure:

=> there is the inst flow
=> the average flow
=> the cumulative quantity
=> the max flow
...

it will be enough for the consumption of water I think ... now it is done, then I will use it : Cheesy:
since there is not too much fluctuation, the response will be fast enough for the instant ... then we will read the average and the consumption at the end of the test.

er I promised the photo ... it is still hidden in an SD card ... : Oops:
following the next episode hihihi : Lol:
