Hi Faab!

You're not the only one to be there! Between those who have enough but no time, those who have the time but not what ... Finally

I advise you while waiting for your time to start by looking well how is the engine of the 205 (by the way, diesel or gasoline?), If it is diesel you look on the forum the montages of Camel. You will recognize the engine config on the photos ...

The GV seems to be the most affordable mount.
Think about the plans, scribble up to find the assembly that seems the most compact and requires the least welding ...
then you collect the necessary pieces ...

That way the day you have access to the famous welding post, you will not waste your time.

I have the 205 and the parts ... the tools, it will come!

Hi Matthew.

Yeah, I saw that I was the only one in this case. I said to myself: "better than a pantone rolling that many others in project that do not roll"
Failing to get to something on my cash, I was too happy to end up with something in another.

Thank you for the link Camel. I had already noticed I just flew over his site for now. It's chiaded that he has laid!

Oh yes I also said that it is probably possible to start welding self taught? I have still explored this path, I must see the resources available on the web and the price of the gear. A sharing of skills is an asset for teamwork.

Well, if you ever go in the pantonisation of your titina, let me know!

I know a guy in the corner that is motivated to do it with me ... also on a 205, except that he does the mecan and solder. The problem is that he already works more than 60h / week and w-end is reserved for his darling. Normal!

I come back with him at the end of January. If I see something concrete, I want to juice.

Self-taught welding is possible ... but not very easy. A few years ago, I had the same need as you, I had to be autonomous for the manufacture of my prototypes. So I did that in evening class in Toulouse. In just a few months you become able to do something other than holes, patés or other gluing with the arc and the torch. A good investment to be able to tinker "seriously" for a long time. : Mrgreen:

Pantoniste Toulousain

by Osiris » 21/01/08, 23:42

Hi Flytox

I've been looking for motivated Pantonists or "GV-ists" in Toulouse for some time.
I am pretty well documented and would like to launch (with a GV) on my Renault 9 1.5L D or see an operational setup.
Are you in Toulouse or the surroundings ????

If not, do you have pipes to train for welding?

Hi CKTM;

It's been some time that I research contacts on Toulouse and the surrounding area to see achievements (100% Pantone or Guillier Pantone) and discuss on the subject before embarking on my R9 diesel.

you also started on the pantone? You have a project in sight ???

I love the juice

Hey Matthew, I have not heard from you, it's that your guy should not be too free ...

If not, I should gradually start welding ... I ordered a few books on the subject which should arrive in March, and the "13th month" of my box is planned to invest in a welding machine ... Image

So if you feel like it, we can start to see each other, to lay the foundations of a good understanding, to discuss what-how-to-get-where-and-when and what is it 'ra polluter motor in months in Gironde ... : Mrgreen:

Incidentally, if there are others that need a welder, have my mail!

Hello everyone,
so here is my first message about these beautiful forums... in fact I have lived in Toulouse for a few years and for a few months I have recovered a vw lt35 truck which is made for the pantone engine ... it has a large straight exhaust manifold which runs along the cylinder head for 40cm ... what bothers me is that it pollutes a lot ... suddenly I ask if there is anyone in toulouse or in the midday pyrenees who runs with a pantone engine? just to have advice and see the beast turn because I can manage for the manufacture.
See you soon
Fab
