Hello

Clarification on what I read above: a road or rail diesel engine cannot run on heavy fuel oil

Aside from legality, pollution, a simple test with red fuel oil
of domestic heating, on a car we reveal that the consumption is less than with the new diesel and that degrades even more with the Jet B aircraft.

Our tractor on the aerodrome or the water jet B operation (availability) its efficiency is lower.

Hello André

A few liters of canola in the spray and your tractor will regain its shape ...

For heating fuel it works better in old diesel than current diesel because of its higher sulfur content. As for switching from FOL (light fuel oil from black which almost looks like tar) in diesel .... The only technical imperative is the heating of the fuel.

a) Uh for me the red fuel oil is not heavy fuel oil André.

Heavy fuel oil is close to heavy crude oil and it requires quite a preheating and filtration (vortex) before being injected into the engine (or the boiler)

This is why it is very limited to very large engines ...

But maybe I misunderstood?

b) If not for your remark, what should we conclude from it?

Hello

the red domestic heating oil is light and goes in almost all small diesel apart from the color and the sulfur

the banker Large black fuel oil almost from the gourdron used in industrial boilers only go on very large marine and industrial diesel it must be heated, most often it is with pneumatic injections to run the real engines that work according to the diesel cycle.

For kerosene jet B jet fuel and turbo prop
we just add a 2 to 3% oil to the fuel
vegetable oil.

On old generation Gulf and Mercedes diesel, indirect injection, domestic heating oil gives better performance (more km on the same tank) than the new diesel, why ??
It should be noted that adding 5 to 10% of oil in the new diesel also improves

The red heating oil contains more sulfur which increases its toning power and its yield in old fuel oil.
The heavy black fuel is a paste at room temperature and indeed it must be overheated and injected in a particular way
there is another category of black fuel called "light" which is mainly used in collective and agricultural heating which has the same characteristics as the HV in diesel combustion.

Chai not what it improves for performans, but for discharges I seem to remember that it is one of the worst pollutants : Cry: : Shock: : Evil: Acid rain etc ...

I find it hard to believe that sulfur brings energy

for combustion energy it seems negligible: for the condensation of acid in the exhaust and its destruction it is expensive in scrap

for pollution I don't think less and I won't say more

but the current red fuel does not contain much sulfur, it is just red to dissuade from circumventing the tax on road fuel

Hello
The heavy black fuel is a paste at room temperature and indeed it must be overheated and injected in a particular way
there is another category of black fuel called "light" which is mainly used in collective and agricultural heating which has the same characteristics as the HV in diesel combustion.

I ran a heavy fuel oil boiler room for seven years and I can tell you that it is really shit in terms of pollution and maintenance.
there are three categories of heavy fuel oil n ° 1, n ° 2 and n ° 3.
number 3 is the worst it is crude. Running a boiler with this fuel oil is a real hassle it has a lot of mud, water and even stones it must be preheated to 170 degrees and start with light. It pollutes serious but it is the cheapest, that is why a stupid shopping had provided us with this shit that is actually bitumen all just good for the roads.
N ° 2 c is the same without mud and without pebbles it can run on very large diesel but hello the hassle (several hours of maintenance per day, especially the filters)
for N ° 3 preheating to 140 degrees it goes pretty well but it's still a lot of maintenance (weekly shutdown for complete cleaning) and it pollutes.
I have never heard of light black fuel oil!
