Thank you for your advice, I will wait to know more about the gearbox reports before dismantling it ...

For having already driven a pantoned car, I regretted not having additional speed beyond the 5th ...

"Standard" motors favor speed over torque. With a reactor it is the opposite: the ideal is to keep the engine in "under-revving" in 5th at 90 km / h, to release more heat at the exhaust.

Once the engine is hooked up, this "under speed" becomes simply a "low speed", where one obtains a power identical to that which the engine normally provides at a much higher speed.

The ideal would probably be to be able to run continuously under the 2000 rpm mark, unfortunately no box should allow it. If I can increase the reduction by 10 or 20%, it will always be taken.
:D
The other difficulty is that this additional torque is harmful for the bearings. Hence my search for a 110CV gearbox for a 90 engine, to limit wear ... :|

Hello crispus

If I can increase the reduction by 10 or 20%, it will always be taken.

It seems to me that an increase of 10 or 20% is very important. You will never be able to pass the 5 ° except downhill? Ideally the should aim for 200 to 500 rpm maximum engine less on the longest gear. The boxes are not so catastrophically ill-suited as that of origin.

I had to give up the modification of box, too difficult:

The clutch "bell" is not interchangeable: it receives the starter, the clutch fork and the differential. Everything is different from one model to another. In the case of the differential the center distance of the pinions varies with the number of teeth and the footprint which receives the universal joints has a good chance of being different too!

I will therefore more modestly be satisfied with a revision of the box before reassembly.

So at the differential level I don't see a solution. On the other hand, it may be possible at the level of the 5th gear. But it can be changed later without restarting the box, it gives me time to see it coming ...

To be continued...

Hello everybody

The car is still on its chocks in front of the house : Lol:

On the other hand, I was finally able to take off this% µ $ # € @ of box, that it is impossible to get out completely since it always blocks somewhere ...

But I gave up removing it completely, since I was still able to remove the clutch, and that in any case the overhaul is done with the box in place as pointed out by lv13r ...

The stopper has a little play, but it is not dramatic. The most annoying thing is that when I dismantled the mechanism I heard something fall?

Diagnosis: one of the 4 springs of the clutch disc has rubbed against the mechanism, until a piece comes off and comes to block everything! : Shock:

I could not take a picture since the memory card has disappeared ... Thank you children : Lol:
