Standby power consumption of an induction hob?

by Rebus » 27/02/12, 11:49

Hello,

Having purchased a power consumption analyzer, Ecowatt, I began to track down the remaining power consumption of appliances on standby.

A very recent 4 induction hob, connected to the 220V mono network, not lit, absorbs 100 watts permanently.

It does not seem very normal to me.

Thank you for letting me benefit from your experiences.

I do not really know...

If there is an automation or safety loop system (detection or not of a pan) it is likely that this is not a measurement error (25W per plate).

There are mechanical buttons or it is a touch system as we often see (induces a standby consumption inevitably greater than with buttons)?

What does the notice say?

Not surprising, since it is tiring to do a waking electronics that consumes little, (mW possible) with that of power to KW, that it increases the price and that the usual consumer does not care!

Hello,

It's a classic touch system on recent models but 25watts detection system seems still prohibitive.

The instructions could not be more succinct.

Not so much for the reason mentioned by dédéleco ...

Are there any minimum standards to respect?

What brand?

I didn't dare "swing" but hey, it's Whirpool.

I would like a feedback from someone who made this measurement on similar material.

For me 100watts in standby it's not going well.

It's not worth taking care to unplug HIFI accessories, TV or chargers for a few watts while a plate that is used 2 3 hours a day consumes 100 day and night all year ...

However, I would like to be sure that this is not a defect.

What exact reference? One can try to find a datasheet see online wiring diagram?

Re,

The plate looks like a physically ACM721NE
But on the label reads desous CPSN-3000C Rev.S0

I did not find more detailed instructions ....

Nobody had the curiosity to his utiser Ecowatt to search for devices that consume standby unnecessarily?

Not found either with this reference ... :|

If we are many to track hidden consumptions but the Ecowatt is not necessarily the most suitable device (because measure the overall consumption generally, finally it depends where it is obviously placed ...)

Personally I have no induction plate so I could not help you on this one!

May we wait for the opinion of another member who has it?

Ben is the first use of this device that is connected output meter and cut all consumers of the house to know the power drawn by each. : Arrowl:
