FALSE: I notably invented a new system and made available to everyone (on my site and elsewhere) to recover wastewater from showers in order to supply toilets and save water without depriving yourself of anything, more 15m³ / person and per year

bardal wrote:Finally, it is not me who speaks of 25 years of life for photovoltaic panels, it is you who advanced this figure, which I have only taken again. That said, yes there are some signs that are 40 years old and still work; and there are automobiles that are a hundred years old and still drive; this is not why it is on these lifetimes that we must count ....

Sorry if it's me!
In these times of economy and the hunt for planned obsolescence, more and more people are making their equipment last longer.
I had succeeded in keeping my 30-year-old washing machine "alive" (by repairing it exclusively by myself); last fatal failure: the electronic circuit which for lack of spare part sounded the end of my machine!

bardal wrote:What I'm trying to tell you is that there are other ways, much simpler and much more reliable, to achieve the same result; but it is true that you are not the only one to attempt this path of accumulation of advanced technologies to resolve questions of energy sobriety; I'm not sure it's the best way, at least for an individual ... But if you're interested ...

So what are these other means etc. to achieve sustainable and above all ecological storage of electricity!
NB Current batteries have a strong gray footprint.

Right answer !

The laws of physics are immutable and they are the same for everyone, yes, but it is the way you use them that changes over time.

The 0,5% or 0,4% or 0,8% that we give here and there are not part of the laws of physics, these figures result from the technology used and this one is in constant progress.

The example of the candle is well chosen! The Tealight-lamp illuminates 24 times more than a candle using only one candle: http://www.thermonamic.com/TeaL-001-English.pdf . Gadget, but educational.

I ask myself a question: for steel tanks, we should be able to use an ordinary tank and put a suitable liner inside. It would be much cheaper.

I do not think so, because the thickness of the steel is in all cases fixed by the capacity to resist pressure, not by sealing.

From memory (read a long time ago), there are actually specific liners inside composite tanks dedicated to vehicles, for understandable reasons of maximum sealing for safety, compared to static storage which is systematically installed outdoors.

By "ordinary tank" I meant gas tank, rather low pressure, which one would adapt to hydrogen. But, it must already exist.

But the problem then would be to store nearly 2000 m³ and therefore this would give a cylinder of 2m in diameter and a length of more than 160 meters! (Lien which allows to calculate it)
The compression allows to decrease the volume and therefore if someone could calculate it under 350bars and under 700bars ... thank you!

Do you do it on purpose? All the calculations are in my previous posts.

You said "A 13m3 350bar tank,"
but without calculating the shape of the tank ... that's what I meant but badly worded!
My excuses.

The shape is cylindrical, it is also explained above. And as long as possible (also explained in the case of bottles), because as everyone knows the longer it is the better it is ....

A compressed gas transport trailer generally looks like this:

not complicated ; at identical temperature, double the pressure is to divide the volume by 2.

This one seems to me rather well suited to your needs: 20m3 to 250bar, it should almost stick.

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ ... 5018HZ3Tr1

$ 85000 to $ 120000 FOB (so there's shipping and taxes extra).

But when you love you don't count!

PS: I'm kidding of course, I don't advise you to import something like this from China! It's just to give some ideas of what it represents .....

"Individual use of hydrogen for residential and transport energy"

"a) Mike Strizki, engineer at Renewable Energy International, Inc. and at Advanced Solar Products,
Inc., built a non-polluting electrical system for its house, covering the slope of its roof
south facing solar panels and an electrolyser to extract hydrogen from water
before storing it in tanks installed on its property.

[I must admit that there are a large number of tanks and probably with hydrogen stored at 75 bars as shown at the bottom of the article!]

Solar panels meet 160% of the house's electricity needs during the summer and
60% of its needs during the winter. Managing seasonal energy consumption
makes it possible to build up during the summer a sufficient hydrogen reserve for the winter. It has
enough hydrogen to power vehicles and appliances, including
cook with hydrogen, all year round.

He has more energy than he needs to power his bath, his pool, his big TV
screen and its fuel cell cars. (Photo: Renewable Energy International)
"

Apparently it does not heat using hydrogen (heat pump or hydrogen boiler, for example)

The rest is also interesting
