dia allows you to draw diagrams without trying to master the exact dimensions of what you are drawing
Qcad is a real industrial drawing software: we draw what we want with great precision, and of course nothing prevents drawing also diagrams
Qcad is free under linux, and available freely in windows than in an old version with some faults ... the correct version under windows is not free but sold by ribonsoft at a ridiculous price ... around 20 euro when I I bought and without any protection: we can install it on any computer we want ... so at this price there is no hesitation to buy
the successor of Qcad is librecad: exactly the same function but completely free ... only defect of the incomprehensible icons ... the icons of Qcad are much clearer ... I find that it is easier to learn with Qcad than 'with librecad
dia is part of the classic software for linux, but I never really used it ... when you master Qcad or librecad, dia is not much use

Re: Download DIA software drawing free technical diagrams
OK thanks for these notes!
The advantage of Dia is that it comes with libraries of pre-drawn elements, it is more "diagram" and "schematic" oriented than a dimensional drawing!
Qqad / Librecad and Dia are therefore complementary!

Et FreeCad for 3D is also very good, there is even a finite element module!

Re: Download DIA software drawing free technical diagrams
All CAD software is supplied with libraries of pre-drawn elements. It is also possible to add his creations, according to his needs.
Personally, I have long used AutoSketch, which has the advantage (rare in computer science) of being delivered with complete documentation and a really didactic manual to learn how to use it. The most difficult is to master the management of the pointer. Despite some bugs, it suited me perfectly, but can no longer be installed on the latest computers.
I fell back on LibreCAD which works on exactly the same background, except that the way to use it is very different, which means that, having only little obligation to draw, I remained very ignorant. . There are a lot of tutorials that allow basic manipulations, however it is not enough to carry out a project, even a simple one ... When you have acquired automatisms, it is difficult to find yourself relearning everything ...
It's a shame, because DTP brings a lot for, for example, to develop a prototype: it is easier to redraw the parts than to remake them and there is the possibility, under AutoSketch (and probably under LibreCAD?), make small rotation simulations to validate mechanical operation ...
