Motor oil 2T scooter in a chainsaw, possible?

Hello,
Thank you all for all of your answers.

Thank you for the recommendations for use, but I never said I never used a chainsaw. Likewise regarding regular maintenance, I will do a good maintenance because I like to know how to leave with good bases, but there's still 2 days it turned nickel, simply thermal it works with a 2t mixture, and when I see the prices for ready-made mixtures. In the case of mine the mixture is recommended at 2.5%.

Macro
Personally for 6 years now .. I use in all my two-stroke materials synthetic bricomarket oil at 2% (motorcycle or field farming it's the same except the rix and the color of the can) Zero problem

As my current scooter oil is m ..., I will therefore follow the advice of Macro, in addition I have a DIY market near my home. Macro would you have a reference by chance, because motorcycle radius in my bricomarché there is no, just tiller, on the other hand the intermaché next to them they have a motorcycle radius, and as it is the same group, maybe I should look there.

Regarding electric chainsaws, I have one, but with the job I have to do, long live the thermal, especially das of cable. IF I also have to start buying a generator just for that, .... But I confirm for a small punctual job, the electric is practical.

Dédé2002, you write:
Indeed, I have never seen a lumberjack cut down a 15 meter tree with an electric chainsaw, although this is technically possible.

With sufficient power (ie much higher than the usual electric models), felling with an electric chainsaw would be possible, since it is fairly static, but not shaping (limbing, billonning), which would not accommodate the size of the wire.

Castor oil has a characteristic odor, the least of which can be said is that it is rather strong ...

Edit: Djo59, the percentage of the mixture depends above all on the characteristics of the oil and hardly on those of the machine. It is actually much better to make your 2T mixture yourself, provided you are vigilant and never forget the oil ... : roll: The oil is colored red or blue to avoid this kind of oversight, but it is still possible, because the final coloring remains discreet.
Oil must be poured into the fuel container as soon as the latter is empty with a measure adapted to the desired fuel volume and leave this measurement at the bottom of the container to memorize this contribution; add the appropriate volume to the pump, which will dilute the oil perfectly. Prepare quantities proportional to the expected consumption, so as not to keep the fuel for too long, in which case it will decompose: it will smell a different, rather unpleasant odor and will no longer allow the engine to start.

brand: ecauto power 2-stroke synthetic oil motorcycle black can ... but in the special gray canister the content is the same ... just that it is € 1 more expensive for two liters ...

By cons in a separate grease scooter .... it will be wasted because very often they grease at 4% ... while 2% is enough ...

From my various readings on 2-stroke engines, I stayed on the idea that the biggest need for oil is for the piston / segments / cylinder and not for the bearings .... : Shock:

anecdote: I saw 2-stroke brushcutters with the exhaust light blocked at 3/4 by scale! it only happens with 2-stroke mineral oil! never with synthetic oil
this kind of big blockage is rarer with chainsaw that is always used fully accelerated

I would have rather said that at low speed, when the engine had time to cool down (passage through the slow motion) the exhaust gases are relatively cold and stuffed with unburnt / oil and it smokes / stinks / pollutes / calamine the serious exhaust. But after a few seconds at good speed, the exhaust temperature goes back up to 600 ° C and all the oil is burned synthetic or not (even if it is also done with a minimum of ash, (scale sharply + dry / hard) At good speed the unburned decrease drastically.

Well, me too ... I thought that ... However on modern cyclos I saw quite a lot of crankshaft bearings and Hs connecting rod needle socket without the engine (cast iron cylinders) tightening ...

the oil which remains in suspension in the volume of the combustion chamber burns! anyway this part remaining in suspension is useless for lubricating

fortunately the intake air first passes around the crankshaft, which allows a good part of the oil to be fixed on the surfaces and lubricate what is necessary: oil which sticks to the surface of the cylinder does does not burn easily since the cylinder temperature is limited

even if the engine runs completely and the oil in the volume of the chamber burns, there is always a part of oil which is ejected by the exhaust without having burned

this is particularly obvious on 2-stroke diesel (clm junker engine ... or hanomag pony 812): it is diesel so the compression ratio is sufficient to burn the oil ... alas these engines always spit oil through the exhaust: simply the oil in the segments is sucked by passing in front of the exhaust light

No doubt Chinese bearings ... to be avoided despite their "tempting" prices (they hold 5000 km VS 150 km on an auto wheel bearing ...)

Ok thank you for the Macro info, I would go see this; as for the rest of the scooter oil, it was hanging around my house while I have no scooter, I would make someone happy with it.

Don't worry I know, that will remind me of my good old 103 : Mrgreen:
