of course the redistilation of pyrolysis residues is less economical than the distillation of petroleum: in petroleum all the parts are salable: in pyrolysis products there is a lot of water which consumes a lot of energy to boil

to produce electricity with gas you need an engine that makes enough waste heat to distill all that, and even several times to correct it properly

a combustion engine works very well cooled to a little more than 100 °: for example to make superheated steam at 120 °: good for distilling water and methanol

then the heat of condensation can still be used for something else: home heating, or drying wood ...
