By hand, it must be difficult to reach a speed allowing approximate measurements to be made given the overall size.
But to reach the two second revolutions on the alternator, the wind turbine must rotate at 40 revolutions per minute. For this it will be 40 x ft x D x 0..8 in wind speed in meters per minute. D being the diameter of 1.2 m. Or 120 m / min so 2 m / s. As the yields are not 100% count 3m / s. It is not a big breeze and therefore it should come in the next few days.
Be careful to check the pitch angle of the blades ....

However, I thought I was clear by answering the questions exactly.
- I have been running all winter, the wind turbine (empty) during the manufacture of the generator. Two revolutions per second do not seem feasible to me.
This represents 1.20 x 3.14116 x 2 = 7.54 ml per second at the end of the blade. Or 27 km / h. I have often seen, 1 lap second, and it's already very impressive. A bit faster, again, but not two laps ...
- Now, the small resistance due to friction and the inertia of the generator, supposes a much stronger wind, than I have not yet observed..However, in the hand, the resistance of the generator, seems weak or "normal".
- Sorry not to be more assertive, but the wind has not risen yet since the end of my installation.

I allow myself to come back to my little problem.
I have noticed the shortcomings of my machine which are common to vertical wind turbines. See on some site, a systematic denigration. However, this choice is not without common sense, due to certain advantages of the vertical wind turbine.
So, still for fun, I am trying to improve the system.
What would you think if I cumulated different types, for example by inserting in the empty central part, For example http://www.onpeutlefaire.com/construire ... e-vertical
or see more or instead add the system: http://ecowind.forcemajeure.com/index.p ... -du-milieu,
beyond my blades.
I would like to know your opinions

I am not fervent of the 2 types of wind turbines which you put the links for a question of performance, if I reproduced this wind turbine, I would certainly not take gears but a toothed belt to reduce the noise and the cost!
The fairing decreases the cost of the producing element while making it possible to double the performance in addition to starting the production with a slightly weaker wind, this creates a pressure at the entry which increases the wind speed at the level of the blades as well that a venturi effect at the exit!
The weak element of the wind turbine is its generator which uses too many coils and magnets which increases the cost of the set already much more complicated to produce than the known verticals but the performance eliminates this additional cost, I would rather opted for a conventional generator with toothed belt and pulleys to calibrate the performance much easier and more flexible!
