Hydraulics, a false good idea?

Renewable energies except solar electric or thermal (seeforums dedicated below): wind turbines, energy from the sea, hydraulic and hydroelectricity, biomass, biogas, deep geothermal energy ...

Okay, little summary:

highflyaddict wrote: What do you think of the development of rivers for the production of electricity?
Do we collectively have the right to upset or destroy ecosystems to improve our comfort?

Obviously, for the most part, the answer is clearly YES .... but I also guess that most are not really aware of the modifications imposed on ecosystems by development. I will come back to this if anyone is interested.

highflyaddict wrote: With this in mind, do you have any ideas or solutions?
And by the way, what is the current energy balance of a dam?

So what !? Isn't there a hydraulic engineer in the room? Or is it too "thorny" a question? : Mrgreen:

PS: Not badly the aqualienne, at least that avoids the fish to be cut in slices while passing in the turbines ....

There is a tiny (and inexpensive) turbine invented in the Czech Republic which turns and produces electricity corresponding to domestic needs from a low head and low flow rates, so without disturbing the structure and the course biotope modest water. The principle is the recovery of the energy of the eddies of the streams - the egg of Christopher Columbus! it was enough to think about it! .Its installation does not require significant work. It can be used on any watercourse capable of supplying between 22 and 33 liters of water per second. This is the SETUR turbine, which, despite the interest it presents, is not yet marketed in France. This device is patented in Europe and the USA and its development has been encouraged by European grants.

This is huge, I just visited the web page http://www.setur.cz (if someone wants a translation, please, but small pieces please because I do not yet fully master the language, far from it :|), I will try to find out at the next renewable energy fair (or if someone wants more info I can also send an email).
In any case the subject is fascinating :P, I personally find that a small water mill is very romantic, and even if it is a small local turbine, I am for (all the same much less harmful on the same scale as uranium or coal). Too bad it disappeared :| !

Well I am not an expert, but apparently it is not very common to find such a "domestic" device, adaptable to a low fall height, not distorting waterways, and for a reasonable price. Apparently, putting all of these arguments together becomes hard to find business :?:

yannko if you want, we will talk about it in a few weeks when the first tests of my paddle wheel are made: https://www.econologie.com/forums/tambour-de ... t6303.html

:)

I bet 1314 kWh per year that I manage to make a paddle wheel, generator of 150W (or more) for less than 400 € : Cheesy:
