Heat my house with the air from my veranda?

Renewable energies except solar electric or thermal (seeforums dedicated below): wind turbines, energy from the sea, hydraulic and hydroelectricity, biomass, biogas, deep geothermal energy ...

Dedelco's idea is the simplest and the most effective.

Neighbors simply opened between the veranda and the interior, and they didn't have to heat up all afternoon.

We can put a single hot air circulator at the top inwards with valve (plastic sheet which prevents the return of air if the fan is stopped by gust of wind, which exists commercially for WC or bathroom) and a return opening at the bottom without fan with also a valve to close in sunless weather and open manually if the veranda is hot.

To automate, it is necessary to find valves controlled by thermostat like the fan, that is to say a thermostat which activates a driver which controls an electric valve. Easy to tinker with a motor and thermostat kit at Selectronic or Conrad, if you don't find it cheap.

that's why I plan to go through the cellar, there will be roughly 10 to 12 meters of sheath so I think no natural mechanical air movement possible once the fan stopped
this does not prevent the presence of the check valve on the outlet side inside the house
the return home towards veranda will be done by the cat flap which is between the two and which is not hermetic.

A bit of an illusion, if the wind is blocked by this length of duct, the fan will be even more blocked.
In addition this sheath must be very well insulated, otherwise loss of heat from the veranda.
It is much better to have the shortest possible path between veranda and house, through a window or a wall between veranda and house.
An electric valve will be more efficient than a long sheath which does not prevent the passage of air in the direction authorized by the non-return valve.
This is sold with toilet or bathroom vents, closed if they are in the off position.

The use of a powerful fan like the one I put the link and dryer hatches are sufficient even if the pipe is long, naturally there must be 2 hatches one on the floor for the cold return and one on the ceiling for heat recovery, nothing complicated so far! :frown:

No need to reinvent the wheels! 8)

Stepping behind sometimes can strengthen friendship.
Criticism is good if added to some compliments.
