Electronuclear flexibility (excluding subject wind)

Renewable energies except solar electric or thermal (seeforums dedicated below): wind turbines, energy from the sea, hydraulic and hydroelectricity, biomass, biogas, deep geothermal energy ...

It therefore remains to dissipate in thermal form 97,5%, or about 2,5 kWh / m1250 / year, or of the same order of magnitude as the insolation of the site. Thermal pollution is therefore very marginal.

For your calculations, then I would point out to you that, if they were correct, and the Rhone cooling three other power plants downstream from Bugey, the water from this river should arrive in Arles at a temperature above 35 ° or even 40 ° C ... This does not seem to me to be the case (too bad, the Arlésiens could heat themselves for free) ... Beware of the internet, there is sometimes anything there.

Re-hi, : Wink:

My calculations are not exact, but "These 50 kWh / m000 / year represent the total thermal energy" actually dissipated, it is just double the annual production of electricity.

And the flow of the Rhône is much less in Bugey than in Arles.

Cogeneration gas (in France)

Explain to me.

For biogas I know. I do not know the "industrial machines" of Engie or EdF.

I tried to do it above. Without reaction from you (or others for that matter), either it's clear or it's an incomprehensible stunner, I don't know ...

Taken elsewhere. I wanted to read it again because indeed, I did not understand at first reading.

Note that this thread is only an accessory for me ... Very accessory. For ethical-philosophical reasons, I would continue to be against nuclear power, even if "pure logic" would lead me to think the opposite.

Secular, I respect everyone's right to adhere to any religion ... Belief is so irrational ...

quite, largely verified with the gullible religion of the Franco-French nuclear.

So there would remain only a war of religions, so imbecile ... I have some confidence, nevertheless, in rationality ... With a little good faith ... Finally ... faith, a word trapped, maybe just a little listening ...

the whole world should not be rational on this subject, since only the French have a nuclear-dominated electric mix.

2 possibilities:
1 ° the French are relevant on this subject, the other imbeciles
2 ° the opposite!

Rationality is not rationality ... These are big screen words behind which hide ideologies just as irrational as what they are fighting against.

Me too.

What is the rationale behind an impulse buy (that's the sales!)? Behind replacing his jacket which "still works very well" for a "jacket which is more fashionable"? Behind the replacement of the iPhone n ° x for the iPhone n ° X + 1 (for the majority of people who only do "ordinary" gestures with: phone, send an SMS, take a photo or a video?) ? The change of a car sometimes (sometimes they are obsolete, of course; but given the second hand that I bought, it was not the case of those who sold!)?

So I respect the right of everyone to believe in the religion of consumerism, of always more (odds and ends) and always less (of life, of nature) ...

I'm not at all sure that I went for the silliest "religion"!

The field of production work is that of rationality, just like its symmetrical complement, consumption work (responsible for the important mission of destroying what is produced so that cycles can be linked together), is that of irrational.
However, this opposition continues at a much higher level, since we can, overall, establish the antagonism between a hyper-rationality of means and an irrationality of ends, in the sense that the growing production of abstract value always destroys more the possibilities of life on earth.
Transhumanist thought sheds very revealing light on this point, since, among its most radical supporters *, the idea of a total disappearance of a humanity that has become unsuited to the changes it itself has brought about is emerging. this for the benefit of a "consciousness" integrated into a machine ... : roll:

* And probably the most logical.
