Welcome!
It works the idea of your video, obviously, you just need to be able to use "cold" water ... For a plant for example?
Here are 2 topics where we talked about the problem of "hot pipes": https://www.econologie.com/forums/prix-reel- ... 12727.html

There are surely others!

Personally, I don't really like drinking cooled "hot" water.
Because it has stagnated in a DHW tank which is not necessarily to health standards (corrosion, bacteria, magnesium electrode, limestone ...) depending on its age and wear ...
It can therefore be loaded with various "products" ...

The observation that a very large amount of clean water is wasted is very relevant and your system provides a simple, effective and economical solution, but difficult and restrictive to use on a daily basis.
I also believe that a post had been opened on econology a few years ago on this subject.
Your system could be improved by putting a double pass before the hot water tap: a thermostat measures the temperature of the incoming water, and as long as this water is not at the set temperature, a solenoid valve drifts it towards a secondary network (wc, watering, washing, ...) or puts it back into the circuit with a circulator actuated in parallel with the solenoid valve. (Perhaps besides that the circulator only would function without solenoid valve).

I do it almost every day.
You can use the water in the toilet, if you have one in the bathroom. I use it to rinse the sink after shaving.
( I came to the conclusion that you had to shave BEFORE the shower, because afterwards, the mirror is clouded by condensation)
Casually, for a stingy like me, it saves money: I am less than 100 liters / day for 2 people. it saves me 2 to 3 liters / day, or 2 to 3%)
