d. after compression, this same gas can be used as fuel in
your vehicle.

it reminds me of the goal of JL Perrier:

hello and thank you for this info
In the duscussion, I noted the comparison between GPL and H2. This comparison should be broader and highlight the interest of using pure hydrogen or using an intermediate molecule or the hydrogen is stored in a molecule offering other properties.
Example: fix the hydrogen in the methane molecule which is liquid at low pressure which is more interesting for storage ...
ditto for biodiesel, ethanol ...
What I did not see in the article by JL Perrier is the storage conditions and the autonomy thus possible.

About gazogenes, here are 2 links that seem interesting to me.

http://www.green-trust.org/woodgas.htm
Who even at the following link:
http://members.tripod.com/~highforest/w ... fired.html
And there are others on this page.
It is unfortunately in English, but the google translator allows sy
find when we have miseres to follow.

One thing that I don't understand is the interest that the CEA has in being interested in the transformation of biomass. The interests of nuclear power are the opposite of renewable energy.
Can we see it as a "political" maneuver to be a powerful actor who directs research and thus be able to orient the renewable sector ???

gas with water is not a futuristic project: it is a classic process which was used in industry before 1900

one of the most common way to do this: coal gasifier alternately supplied with air and steam

when the gasifier is supplied with dry air the partial combustion of carbon makes CO and raises the temperature: it makes lean gas because the CO is diluted by the nitrogen in the air

then we feed the gasifier only with water vapor: it makes a gas composed only of CO and H2 that we called gas in water! without nitrogen since only water vapor enters ... as the decomposition of water vapor absorbs heat the gasifier cools, and it is necessary to return to the gas phase with air at the end of some time

there have also been devices to make gas with water with a separate hearth to heat a gasifier from the outside so that it can operate permanently in gas with water ... but this process has been abandoned because less efficient than the alternating operation with water and with the air of a simple gasifier

another principle used at that time: mixed gas: it is the same gasifier supplied with a mixture of air and water vapor: just the right mixture to stabilize the temperature: suddenly the heat given off by the combustion of C in CO is used to crack water: it therefore makes a mixed gas richer than the lean gas ... is the energy efficiency of the mixed gasifier is very good

It seems to me that if you immerse charcoal in water, it releases neither heat nor gas. : Mrgreen:

Oops! Sorry, I'm going out ... :?
