In the gegyx .pdf, the content of which is as follows, it is clearly specified: 50 km / 700 kg payload.
Already 700 kg is quite huge ... me finally it must be possible in some cases at the Post Office ...
But above all AMHA very few vehicles exceed in current use the 50 kg of payload excluding "human" weight.
Re-read the conclusion ... "comfort of use in town" = "VAE possible" ...

We are all part of this structure and it is we who make it evolve by taking initiatives. There are maneuvering niches, sometimes you have to jump into the water ...elephant wrote: In the current "social" structure, I don't think we can organize ourselves: most of these trips are urgent. Large companies can possibly do this using a mixed fleet
Yes, in electric, it is worth the double, with the purchase, it is very sought after with the resale, the maintenance cost is not prohibitive if one has assimilated the instructions of use well. Finally, and this is the most important, the energy cost is very low, less than € 3.00 including VAT of electricity for 100km, or less than 3 liters per 100km (if diesel at € 1.00 / liter).elephant wrote:There is also the price: a used diesel partner 10 years, 100.000 km is 2500 3000 euros and it still 6 years before being sold 1000 euros.
Multiply by your mileage and make your comparative diesel VS electric budget ...
If in addition you manage to load at your customers while you work, the cost will be negligible for them, the return on investment, when to him, will be "royal" for you.

Here is one for sale there, at € 17400 anyway:

This extremely rare model seems like a good deal. It was sold new between 25 and 30.000 €.
Considering the age, condition and mileage, it is already a collector's item.
For enthusiasts ... if you have the means.
You can read the feedback from a reference user (vice president of Mobil'éco and organizer of the crossing of the Alps in electric vehicles) on his site: Methanol battery.
It is no coincidence that it is for sale on a German site.
These vehicles are very popular in northern Europe, to the point that prices are soaring.
This situation disturbs Renault a lot, which assigns these specialized technicians for maintenance operations at the dealers and agents of the brand ...

I partially withdraw what I said (at least concerning the Post Office), they will be well equipped with VAE and other vehicles more "econological" than "beast electric cars":

La Poste will deploy 100 electric quads
(source: La Poste)
In March 2008, the La Poste group launched a European consultation for the manufacture of 300 electric quads available for early 2009.
A year and a half later, the manufacturers Matra and Automobiles Ligier were chosen to supply 100 electric quads by the end of the year, across the country.
These electric quads, called Quadéos, will be deployed throughout the country and used by letter carriers in urban areas for mail delivery, replacing thermal vehicles. [BRK1]
The Quadéo is intended to replace scooters or in some cases thermal cars. It can carry up to 150 kg of mail and has a range of 25 km. Two Quadéos prototypes were designed by Matra and Automobiles Ligier and tested with success. The use of Quadéos by 100 factors will save 200 to 300 tonnes of CO2 per year.
La Poste will gradually acquire a complete range of clean vehicles as part of its National Plan, ranging from electric vehicles to electrically assisted bicycles or even double-deck trucks.
New electric cars currently being tested by letter carriers
The La Poste group has launched an international consultation to integrate 500 electric vehicles into its fleet, with a target of 10 cars if the experiment is successful. The use of electric cars saves 000 tons of CO3 per year and per vehicle, compared to a traditional car. The acquisition of these 2 vehicles will therefore allow an annual reduction of 500 tonnes of CO1500.
La Poste has retained 2 manufacturers: Micro-Vett / Newteon and Venturi Automobiles to each supply 5 “pre-series” electric cars. Both are associated with a major automotive manufacturer: FIAT for Micro-Vett / Newteon and PSA for Venturi automobiles.
These pre-production vehicles are currently being tested in a real distribution situation by postmen from Aquitaine, Paris and Longjumeau.
Electrically assisted bicycles and new electric trolleys to facilitate the working conditions of letter carriers
La Poste will have more than 3500 electrically assisted bicycles (VAE) by the end of the year and will acquire up to 6.000 by 2012. With a range of 15 to 20 km and weighing 30 kg, the VAE is intended to replace scooters for tours of less than 15km and having a slope with a gradient limited to 10%.
Among the many advantages of the electric-assisted bicycle, letter carriers were able to reduce the effort required by pedaling assistance by 70%, which allows them, and especially letter carriers with reduced mobility, to deliver mail in optimal and comfortable conditions.
The VAE avoids the replacement of a bicycle tour by a moped tour: a reduction of 0,7 tonnes per vehicle and per year.
La Poste is also modernizing the daily work tools of pedestrian postmen, by renewing its range of trolleys with ergonomic and electric models to facilitate pedestrian routes. 3 new models are now offered to letter carriers, one of which is electric. 700 electric forklifts are currently in circulation.
Promote eco-driving
Since 2007, nearly 50 letter carriers have benefited from eco-driving training.
Thanks to simple actions and a change in driving behavior, factors saving have already reduced their CO2 emissions by 7% on average. The 60 letter carriers driving a vehicle will be trained by the end of 000 throughout the country, which should make it possible to reduce emissions by 2009 tonnes of CO10 per year.
** the 100 letter carriers of the Group together travel some 000 million km per year. [BRK2]

In 1998, the post office of Wavre used an electric Kangoo to serve the industrial zones (to the great satisfaction of the driver). (don't ask me more, I no longer work in Wavre)
Postal use is really a good example of electrifiable traffic in priority
On the other hand, I observed a postman the other day in a village: 2/3 of the time, vehicle stopped, engine running. And anyway, if we don't do it like that, the starter motor and the battery fail prematurely.

Finally, as Christophe said in his reflection on the size of electric vehicles, the use of a motorized vehicle in town allows for reflection on its size.
I remember Italian cities in the 60s: it was full of Vespa tricycles. In Charleroi, the green space services use this type of vehicle (and larger). La Poste is another perfect example.
Now, as soon as you deliver packages or become an installer / troubleshooter, it's difficult to go below the size and autonomy of Kangoo / Berlingo
I also remember a controversy that I had a few years ago with an administrator of the ICDI of Charleroi (Intercommunale de Collecte et Destruction des Immondices).
What is the most "profitable": to finance selective collections (we had just eliminated the collection of cardboard boxes for traders) or for everyone to go to the container park?

The same with us ...
This is where electricity has a card to play: urban or journeys with very frequent stops (ours stops every 30 to 50m in the street)! For the rest it is not to the point !!
+1 with your 2nd message ... it matches the subject matter the furur car
