Well said Hello
Remains to see the rest of the info, I guess you have now, an idea of what your reasoning was right
Hi and see you later, I have to run ...
A wind turbine with sails, the wind turbine at the nail!
Hello,
Hello :
Betz's law says that one can only extract from a flux a power at most equal to 11 / 27 of the power present.
That's all !
The power calculation formula can be applied to the wind turbine described:
Diameter 12m sail height 4m Brushed surface 48M²
Either power = 1 / 2 x 1.25 x 48 x 10 x 10 x 10
P = 30 Kw
It remains to determine the efficiency of the system to recover energy. According to the law of Betz he can not be superior to 11 / 27 P is 12.222 Kw!

re
divided by 2, half the time the system is completely unproductive
and if the craft is 50 m in diameter and 1 m high sail (I specify)
by any chance, to try I deleted my avatar
nothing has changed, that of nlc occupies the same size as my old one and to him we say nothing !!!
you are racist or sectarian, had to say it and warn when registering a new member
anyway the inscription "I save grams" delimits the maximum place currently

Hello Hello,
For the avatar it was not yours that was involved ..... (Bibiphoque)
For power, I think you are confusing the power available due to the geometry of the system with the power actually drawn from the system.
The formulas only give you what you can get from the system. Then it's up to you to increase your yield .....
For 50m and 1m high:
D = 1/2 x 1.25 x 50 x 10 x 10 x 10 = 31.250 Watts available according to geometry.
Betz's law says that you can draw from it: P x 16/27 = 18.518 Watts with a yield of 100%.
It's up to you to get as close as possible to this limit.
Well, you start quickly, try to be cooler it will serve you in everyday life .....

I leave the theoretical discussions to put you an interesting info,

Yep, can we build powerful, light and inexpensive alternators? ?
I will inquire about their prices, look!

I find it very interesting and suddenly my mind wanders as a good novice of the small wind that I am, I come back to my history of sand yachts (I am Breton, I do not drop the case as easily ) and I say to myself:Lietseu wrote:I leave the theoretical discussions to put you an interesting info,

- If we use sand yachts that go around in circles with adjustable, automated sails and everything; that we put one of the devices that you found on each wheel, I tell myself that because of 3 wheels per tank, it must be able to make a lot of juice !! no ?? What do you think ??
Another point, have you looked at bolloré batteries for storage? From what was presented at the auto show, it seems to be the most efficient and least dangerous at the moment ....

Good reading...
Hello,
So let's take the 250 Watts wind turbine at 10m / s of wind!
Estimated yield 25% (I'm generous this evening)
Wind power required => 1000 Watts to have 250 W with 25% efficiency!
P = 1 / 2x dx S x V ^ 3 => S = P / (1/2 xdx V ^ 3) => S = 1000 / (0.5 * 1.25 * 10 * 10 * 10) => S = 1.6 m²
250 watts wind turbine => 1.20m X 1.30m approximately
Wind turbine 5 Kw (32m²) => 3 mx 11 m approximately
You can make beautiful toys in the gardens ..........
