Already seen not long ago Bucheron but do the Belgians know that:

Rolalal the old thing warmed up ...
Do Dune's wind traps remind you of anything?
More seriously: yes for the widest spectrum but they will never recover more than the Betz limit (around 60%) ...
I think they'd better dive their stuff into little streams ... there's more potential ...

Re: Keeled wind turbines?
Hello Woodcutter
Chai not if this system is capable of increasing the output for a wind turbine but in any case, it resembles shamelessly military technology which makes it possible to dilute the heat of the exhaust gases with the second flow ... to decrease the infrared signature , the one that attracts missiles that track heat sources.

Ah well, is it that old?Christophe wrote:Rolalal the old thing warmed up ...
Has it already been mentioned here?
Ah? Apparently, this is not what is mentioned ...Christophe wrote:More seriously: yes for the widest spectrum but they will never recover more than the Betz limit (around 60%) ... [...]

It is old in principle Lumberjack, yes we have already spoken of "wind trap".
Well if they say exceed the limit of Betz is that they are very very strong ... in marketing
The advantage of these "new generation" wind turbines is that they have a wider operating range, wind speed spectrum., and that's what's interesting because what matters is not the installed power but the annual energy produced ...

Did you read the explanation before saying that?Christophe wrote:[...] Well if they say exceed the limit of Betz is that they are very very strong ... in marketing [...]
From what I know (i.e. not much ...) the Betz limit is related to the attenuation of the wind speed when passing through the wind turbine, but not only, because the wind turbine in itself disrupts the wind flow ...
This is where this type of streamlined machine will play. As if it were of a larger diameter than it really is, in a way ...

The Betz limit is to wind turbines what Carnot's efficiency is to thermal machines ... so their "explanation" I highly doubt ... in other words:
By cons completely agree on the range of wind speeds more widely exploitable ... but to see the machine it is especially the strong wind that it seems to be able to exploit ...
I think that we are always looking for more efficiency, we are on the wrong track ... The efficiency (in the technological sense) of a renewable energy machine matters, in my opinion, much less than its financial profitability ... low prices generally do not go in the same direction ...
Just a thing, how many demonstrators are there in the world?
Greg always faithful to himself ... Be careful soon you will be entitled to the name "Ecolopochtron official"!
