Nuclear promo pollu-post.

Definitely, it is a continuous harassment of what 80% of the population does not want, even in France:
http://www.atlantico.fr/pepites/sondage ... 14163.html

We've been told something new for 60 years, but we still don't see anything coming. The principle is always the same: heat steam with> 60% heat loss. In a boiler and reactor ready to blow up at the first opportunity. With a containment which will confine nothing, and a post-accident management which will be based on empiricism, improvisation and experimentation.

In the news: "In areas irradiated by atomic bombs or nuclear accidents, there is a very high proportion of male births" Can we imagine a future with only one woman for 10 guys? Polygamy replaced by polyandry without the guys banging on the face! :frown:

a very high proportion of male births

please put numbers and a reference, but I seem to remember that it is a few% ????
Otherwise the Chinese would go to Fukushima for months to have only male children ????

The famous Professor Pierre PELLERIN has died ...
Nuclear: Professor Pierre Pellerin has died at the age of 89

04 March 2013

Professor Pierre Pellerin, a great nuclear specialist and accused of having reduced the impact of the Chernobyl cloud on health, died Sunday March 3 at the age of 89, said a source close to the family, confirming a information from Figaro.

Responsible for 37 years of the Central Service for Protection against Ionizing Radiation (SCPRI), Pierre Pellerin had for decades been in charge of information concerning nuclear power in France. Indicted for "aggravated deception" on the impact of the Chernobyl cloud in France, he was cleared by the courts in 2011. The investigation ended with a dismissal, 10 years after its opening, the court appeal from Paris, considering that the nuclear disaster of 1986 had no measurable health consequences in France. In particular, the investigating chamber of the court of appeal exonerated the former head of the SCPRI.

.................

Among his many other functions, he was also an expert and consultant for the Red Cross-Red Crescent Federations, with missions in Belarus, Russia, Ukraine or Kazakhstan and member of the Franco-German Nuclear Safety Commission (from 1958 to 1994) . Acclaimed by the scientific world for twenty years, he is the author of almost a hundred scientific publications (on the metabolism of radioelements, radiotoxicology or radiation protection standards), winner of the Academy on several occasions of Medicine and the Academy of Sciences

It featured a genius distributing science to humanity, peace and health… A vision that contrasts radically with the post-apocalyptic and pessimistic images that flourish in our contemporary imagination. What we can see in video games like in Fallout for example. But radioactivity is above all a fascinating science, still full of mysteries and completely crazy anecdotes! "

Systematic bashing may be good for the ego, but it doesn't grow in the realm of truth.

Like any technique that provides comfort, it must be mastered by competent people. Statistically, it causes more fear than harm. Does it generate fine particles dangerous to health ... We should ask ourselves this kind of basic question.

This one is under control, with us, a little too much perhaps. Now that we have "given all our skills to the Chinese", the culture of secrecy in this area should be called into question if they want to rally the public to the nuclear cause.

Like, a little bit more video ... : Twisted:

Seen on the blog "Long live the happy nuclear"

Underexposed!

"This book * deals with the effects on humans of radiation from radioactivity, whatever its origin.

The objectives of this book are to inform you that:

1) The low levels of ionizing radiation (which we call "radiation" or "radioactivity") not only are not harmful to living creatures including humans, but above all that they are beneficial in many cases (this is where 'hormesis effect).

2) Our health could be improved by increasing our exposure to radiation. Indeed, although the risk of cancer is one of the three dangers of radiation, exposure to low levels of radiation would effectively reduce the occurrences of this disease.

3) Nuclear power has immense advantages, but the use of this almost unlimited source of clean energy is hampered by this irrational fear of radiation. "
