You're not sure? At EdF nuclear section, they are trained if not briefed to speak "accurately" to the media ... In a recent Special Envoy that was caught red-handed ...

JPP even did an analysis ... : Cheesy:

Above all, the "it can't happen in France" particularly annoys me! And why couldn't that happen !?

There have already been incidents, and at least one could have had the same consequences as in Japan: loss of cooling of the hearts, overheating, melting of the heart, etc.

And it's not that old, it's at the Blayais power station in 99 during the storm. It took very little for the flooding of the basements to cause the loss of all the security organs. And obviously it's almost a miracle that it ended well ...

Must stop with propaganda that in France no danger ...
It will be a disaster, it is obvious, but when? We have to stop this before it happens, because it will happen, that's for sure.

And then we will never know that in France

Unfortunately we are not like infallible god and therefore even with our supermans who boast of being infallible, sooner or later we will know that in France, a Cherno-Fukushima, with certainty, with evacuation of an entire region overnight !!

In France we came close to this several times with the start of fusion of the reactor core (on the Loire) !!
http://www.dissident-media.org/infonucl ... teurs.html
http://www.dissident-media.org/infonucleaire/
17th October, 1969 - Saint-Laurent-des-Eaux (Loir-et-Cher, France). Fusion of 50 kg of uranium during a loading operation of the Saint-Laurent 1 graphite-gas reactor (480 MWe). The contamination would have remained limited to the site. Over a year of repairs.
March 13, 1980 - Saint-Laurent-des-Eaux (Loir-et-Cher, France). Fuel overheating and total fusion of two elements (i.e. 20 kg of irradiated uranium) during a too rapid ramp-up of the Saint-Laurent 2 graphite-gas reactor (515 MWe). Significant contamination in the intervention area for repair (10 rem / h on contact). According to the SCPRI, the irradiation of the inhabitants of the neighborhood remains below the maximum admissible. [This incident led to a plant shutdown of almost four years].

If the French do not understand, by ceasing to vote for the parties that lead us to this madness, they will understand by force, but too late, like the Japanese, by evacuating an entire region, like in Fukushima !!

They haven't finished evacuating !!

And another miracle-avoided merger of valves that didn't work !!
July 1, 1984 - Saint-Laurent-des-Eaux (Loir-et-Cher, France). Believing that he is acting on the PWR Saint-Laurent B1 reactor (880 MWe), when stopped, the operator orders the opening of Saint-Laurent B2 valves, in operation. These valves separate the primary circuit (150 atmospheres in operation) from the stationary cooling circuit (30 atmospheres). The outbreak of primary water would have broken this circuit and caused a major LOCA (Loss Of Coolant Accident). Fortunately the valves do not work, precisely because of the pressure difference. This error stems from a cost saving measure which led to a single auxiliary building for two reactors. (See the excellent review of serious incidents of French PWR made by Mycle SCHNEIDER and Shoja ETEMAD in "Design and operational features, and hazards of French Pressurized Water Reactors", international Nuclear Reactor Hazard Study, Greenpeace, 1986.)

Miracles that save us from accidents do not last forever !!

Well yes, not to mention that zero risk is not possible with human beings at the controls, the proof. Or even machines for that matter ...
And given the increase in discomfort at work in addition to the already stressful conditions, it's really risky.
But I am optimistic, nuclear has no future. It could have existed because at the time we were rich enough to spend on this kind of project.
Today, we are much less so, the nuke represents only 10% of the world electricity production and the power stations must be dismantled before considering its replacement.
The nuke no longer has its place in the present socio-economic context.
However, acts of consumption must reinforce the trend towards alternative sources of production. That's what the factor determines who will push the nuke out.
Why not form a joint purchasing group by district / region in order to buy a subscription package from a truly green supplier? Perhaps he would make a price.

It's not that they don't understand, it's that they do not want to understand!
How many times have I heard and you too: "we can not get out of nuclear power, it is the death of the economy etc ..."
And when we offer them green and efficient solutions that can replace it, such as trapping summer heat in the ground for the winter such as at dlsc, or simply wind turbines, it is total blackout.
So under these conditions what do you want to do?
Wait until everyone dies for things to move forward?
It is hopeless !

And once again it proves that we must not trust governments!
Neither has any authority, because these protect only the powerful, not the people.
This is seen every day: when the police shoot at the demonstrators or spray tear gas on the opponents of the "austerity cure" in Greece or those who do not want the EPR in India etc, etc ...
Always the same story repeating itself.
They behave (the rulers) like immature kids who have done some bullshit and are fleeing cowardly so that the parents will not spank them!
Pathetic!
Is that what it means to be an adult?
To be hypocritical, to lie, to abuse people's trust?
Fleeing responsibilities?
Awesome!
