Uh, I'm not a child.

No more joking, there are simple solutions to have water without going through a nuclear power plant.

source les echos: A factory to drink dew from the bottle
[27 / 04 / 07]

A “dew factory” is under construction in India. It produces up to 350 liters of drinking water per night.
Droplet after droplet, dew is a formidable source of free drinking water, a gift from heaven that appears all over the world, even in desert areas, and has long been a dream, especially in the context of the growing shortages announced. . It is still necessary to succeed in collecting this water with sufficient yields and under advantageous conditions from an economic point of view.

This dream is on the way to become reality thanks to research initiated ten years ago by Daniel Beysens, director of Eseme (Supercritical team for the environment, materials and space), a joint CEA laboratory. -ESPCI-CNRS. The first "dew factory" is under construction on the arid coast of Gujarat (north-west India). Already 850 m2 on the ground condense the dew on this heap of an open pit mine, remodeled in the form of large channels. Ultimately, this giant condenser will cover 12.000 m2.

At first glance, the principle is simple: trenches, covered with thermal insulation and then with a special film, collect the dew, transported to a tank. Filtered and disinfected, the water is bottled. An unexpected windfall for communities that are sorely lacking in water.

Excellent this link. I did not know the principle, it is very instructive. In addition, if one day paints implementing this principle see the light of day at a reasonable price, this could be a significant addition to rainwater collection systems: it would suffice to paint the roof with this paint for the tanks fill even on days (or rather nights) without rain.

Here are some avenues for reflection to try to understand Sarko's Lybian maneuver.

Sarkozy, Kadhafi, uranium and Niger

What were we saying at the time? Is nuclear energy independence?

This is not because I am con I try not to do smart things.

Go back to "Fossil energies: oil, gas, coal and nuclear electricity (fission and fusion)"
