Possible.Il must check behind the furniture, mirrors, pleats etc ...
It could be that it is the merule.
No mushroom feeds on mortar. But it's not just
the merule that knows how to insinuate in it.

Ave.
your mycelium, it would not be efflorescence from rising hair. In this case we can do anything, to make a tightness, but it's not very good for the wall.
As rabbit said, you can put a strong water, or a whitewash to bring minerals to the mortar, it is one of the best green solution.

The term lime is often overused.
Hydraulic lime is lime which "hardens" in water. It is composed of Ca but also of Si and Al (which forms the hydraulic setting) which are elements present in the stone.
Air lime "hardens" in air (recarbonation). It is composed of Ca (CaO for quicklime and Ca (OH) 2 for slaked lime). In this case, the presence of Si and Al are impurities.

For the problem described, effectively a lime water solution (1 g of aerated lime in water 1l) can be a solution, or even a wash (higher air lime concentration).
